Canon Daydream

Desalina

Loyal Servant of Altera

I was walking in a large cave.

It was lit by the light of several luminous mushrooms.

It was so large and airy.

The space between the ceiling and the cave floor seemed large enough to contain the world.

The one thing payed attention to was the large pool of water in the middle of the cave floor.

It took up most of the cave floor..

I went up to the water's edge, and looked into the water.

I couldn't see the bottom.

It was dark enough that I assumed it wasn't so deep.

I looked out at the water and saw a few sea rocks out there.

I was surprised to see them, but at the same time elated.

I thought I could swim out of the cave and into the ocean if I went down into the water.

I thought it was just a sea cave..

I couldn't swim, so I decided to look for another way out before trying that way.

I started walking along the edge of the pool when it started happening.

My imagination was running wild.

I noticed something strange.

My footprints didn't sound right.

They echoed near the water.

I looked at the water as I walked along the edge of the pool, and by the light of a luminous mushroom I could see that the water slapped and rippled as I walked near it.

I immediately backed up from the water.

I cursed so many times. I had never gotten such a scare in my life. It almost brought me out of my day dream.

I kept as far away from the water's edge as possible, and after a while I could not hear it.

After two minutes of walking around, the slapping sounds came back.

It was as if something with webbed feet was trying to copy my footsteps.

But it was so sloppy.

It happened.
I felt a slimy sensation on my back.

I turned around to see a silhouette behind me.

It was right in my face. It looked like me, if I was made of murky water.

I let out a yelp!

It drew back it's right arm, it's hand pointed at my face.

It's fingers melded to form a frozen pike, which it drove into my left eye.

"NO!" I would tell; jerking up suddenly and falling backwards out of my chair.

I looked around me with my right eye, covering my left eye with a hand. Some of the people sitting at the table glanced over at me on the floor.

One of them scoffed and turned away, muttering something under his breath.

I stayed on the floor for a second; shaking and scared before getting back up.

I got up and returned to my seat. I picked up my bottle of cherry brandy and took a swig.
