BACKSTORY:
Ernald was born of a wealthy family in Storm's Landing, of old Daoine origin. He was raised in beauty and grace. From a young age, Ernald has been fascinated with insects. He kept collections of dead insects, pinned to a board. And often caught insects in jars and kept them to watch, though he would usually take care of them and let them go once he was done observing them. Most fascinating of all to him were spiders. Ernald thought spiders were beautiful and brilliant. He believed spiders came to him, intentionally, that they were his friends. He could handle them and not be afraid, not be bitten or bothered, he loved them as friends. He learned that Jishrim was god of these spiders, and began to believe this was a sign of Jishrim's blessing.
Ernald never really had friends. He weirded out the other kids, and got picked on a lot. He came to be fond of a pair of simple puppets he was given by his mother, which he named Robby and Brame. These puppets were his friends, as well as the insects. The insects couldn't talk, though. Robby and Brame could, through his mouth, so kept him company in his own imaginative way.
Ernald scoured the library for anything about Jishrim, he loved books too- really anything that didn't involve going out in the sun. He always had a habit of causing mischief, playing pranks, believing at a young age that these would please Jishrim. Ultimately he was harmless, and still continues to be. Now Ernald works, by day, at the Crawford Athenium. By night, he causes trouble in the name of the Great Dark Lord.
