it is hard to tell what is swampland on there or not.

If you look in the very NW of the Option #1 map, you'll see a group of 6 swamp hexes and 1 forest hex.

Does that help? I'm afraid I don't really know how to describe the swamp hexes, other than that...

I'm liking these maps, the fourth option especially.

fourth one is the one that is the most similar to Earth, as in it has the exact same percentages of Land vs Water, at 71%, and most land tend to be in the northern hemisphere, also like our Earth.

Option 2 and Option 4 have WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY too much land at the poles, which was what I hated about the previous map.

I like option 3, because I can see Corvermell fitting very nicely somewhere here.

The current map has become too crowded and unfriendly to new players. Thus, we're planning to reset so that we can incorporate more players and, thus, have better RP.

on earth, there's no actual land that directly merges with the polar caps on earth. they're all separated from it in some manner.

Ah; I thought you were referring to the Arctic Circle rather than the polar caps themselves.

That said, yes, the land connects to the polar caps, but believe me when I say it is extremely difficult to find good, randomly generated maps. There's either a Pangea continent, too many mountains, not enough deserts, extremely convoluted, etc. The four maps in this vote are the best of the best that I could find.

I would say option 3 is disliked because all the main land mass is centered in one place.
