Lord of Altera
shattered dreams. ( chapter 1 awakening.)

Your vision returns to you as you appear to be in an unknown room, you see that there is two large pillars holding up the roof and that the walls bases and tops are sloped making escape much more difficult, looking closer you realise that the pillars are actually tubes filled with steam and the walls are coated in some sort of soft goo which reminds you of your breakfast, you quickly shake the thought of food as you realise that your ankle is chained to the wall, while you have free range of the room, escapes is impossible.

You sit down and begin to feel annoyed at first, then later you become enraged that you are in this place with nothing to do so you attempt to remember how you got here. You fail to remember anything about how you got into this predicament so you decide to look around the room for a way to escape, having searched around the room you find a small compass like object, you then pocket the thing and carry on, it's probably nothing special anyway, it might prove useful later, you make a rational judgement and expect a rational result. After dealing with said compass you continue to search around, as luck would have it there is a feather that catches your eye, with some straining you manage to reach it and grab hold. To your surprise you it is made of bronze, looking closely it looks more sturdy that it first appeared and after several attempts you manage to break your bonds, you feel almost ecstatic you feel so happy, like you could run around jumping off the walls, in fact you think you might just do that. Wait no... that is stupid, that is the worst idea you have had since you got here.

Now that your bonds are removed, you feel ready to get serious about escaping, you find the rooms door, and upon you touching it there is a loud crack from behind you, like broken glass. You then turn to see that one of the tubes has broken and the room is rapidly filling with steam.
waaa-! Not good, not good!!” you repeat as the steam fills the room, you then look to the room and notice a small notch in it, desperate you jump up and grab it. *click* the floor bellow you collapses into a murky abbeys. The unsure doubt of the potential plummet vanishes quickly as the steam floods the air around you, your escape fuelled response pays off as you decide to jump.

As you fall a lot of thoughts pass through your mind, where am I ? how did I get here? How long until I hit the bottom? While the first two are more prominent on your mind, the third rapidly dawns upon you and your panic returns, you are falling into some unknown pit, accelerating beyond the point of reason. Lights begin to whiz past your face, making you flinch as they fly close. You see what appears to be an old bearded man in grey fighting a demon flying past the other way, but that would be stupid... wouldn't it?

As you continue to fall it begins to dawn on you, what if it never ends? What if I keep falling forever? “will I ever rise up?” *The entire place seems to resonate to your words and slowly a light grows towards where you are falling.* you feel the light bouncing off you, slowing you down, you look closer towards it and see that it is a triangle split into three. You land in the centre softly, you dare to stand up and look around. To your delight you see that there is some stairs on all edges of said triangle, you precede towards them and it becomes apparent that they are portals to somewhere. “Anywhere is better than here...” you say rather grimly to yourself. As you jump through you feel a warms grow over you. As you are now in a forest, grown around a ring of land floating in the sky.

Your face turns to that of awe as stars and sky float above this ring in unison, you turn your head to one side and see that there is a golden warmth baked sun, you turn again and take a deep breath, the smell of a nearby sea fills your lungs behind lies a moon dripping black goo upon a near by land as the view behind you a sense of strange beauty it also fills you with pulling comes over you and you feel a want to travel there. But those choices seem far away as you realise you in the centre of a large triangular temple, with three pedestals on each side, corresponding to each land.

You look at the weapons, one is like the golden sun you saw, a large sun shaped axe that fills you with a sense of warmth, another is like the sea you smelt, a silver cutlass coated in runes that fills you with a taste for adventure, and oddly enough rum? The last pedestal you see contains a large staff, when you try to pick it up black tendrils shoot out the tip and base into some sort of dark trident, it fills you with a deep longing that you manage to throw away as you head back to the centre of the temple to think more deeply about your choice.

As you take a weapon the views around you fade to white, you are left standing on the pedestal with your weapon looking around in the whiteness, before it becomes brilliantly bright, concerned you shield your eye from the light. Then you realise you are rising... or rather moving rapidly towards something. Not an instant after that realisation you standing on a comet. Panicked you dive into a nearby dip. As your courage returns to you tear your eyes away from the rather nice looking hole you are in and gaze upwards, you are going much slower that you thought you were, peeking curiously you look out of the whole and see that the comet is orbiting the triangular temple that you were on, looking down bellow you see that the ring of land you were on is not so much a ring, but rather a a twisting coil heading towards another temple, coated in black and gold.

how do I get there?” *click* you hear a click in your pocket, the compass that you found earlier is now spinning around like crazy, you manage to get a good look of it before it is yanked out your hands glowing like a small star. You reach out to grab it only to find that you are no longer in contact with the comet, shocked you float towards the land you see that land is no longer a good description. While the temple is on solid land, there is a great tendril of oceanic water linking the two temples together through this starry dream like land... It then dawns on you. You're asleep.

The sudden realisation that you are in a dream hardly surprises you, in fact it seams highly likely, your realisation has not gone unnoticed by the realm around you. The black moon and golden sun crack like glass, red and blue ripples shooting around you. “what the...” *the compass stops in-front of you spells out one word in a white light* that word in it spelt fills you with fear, as you crash into the edge of the temple, you see it dissolving into electric ash, you turn and run towards the tendril of ocean. You find a small ship, it's made of golden wood, with a black sail, without any more questions you dive onto it, the compass shattering, your weapon melting, you make one last look behind you before casting off along the sea tendril.

Sailing off on the sea tendril you make one last look behind you, the sight shocks you as well as fills you with awe. While you know this is all inside a dream, you slowly begin to think that it is no longer yours, and that fact has you very worried. The once dark moon and golden sun have shattered as has most of the sky in that direction, letting in another sight, one much more disturbing. Pulsating flesh like substance spreading out from the starscape, Looking down at where the temple once stood, now a twisted cathedral of malicious intend. Looking closer you can see the form of a being that's energy’s intertwine with the substance. Spreading through the cracked sky. As you gaze at the being, you can feel them staring back at you, But it too far away to tell now. You also feel a deep longing to return to find out who...or what that was, you have never felt so disturbed in all your life. *meanwhile the figure stands over where the compass shattered, looking into the floor where the word “run” is burnt into it in a white light, they then smile and set their sights upon you sailing away in the small ship*

Lord of Altera
Good story but sometimes a bit hard to follow since it looks like you're missing out on some details here and there. There should be some more information provided here and there to make it a bit more clear to the reader what they're seeing or where they're going to and also especially what the 'I' character is feeling. The story is written quite objectively but I think would have been a better read if it would include the character's feelings and opinions on situations a bit more.
