Introduction
This book is here to provide an extensive study into the lives of the common Greyling. It will serve as a valuable resource if you ever do encounter one, so ensure you follow all our advice to the word, else these savage beasts will most certainly attack.
Intelligence
Greylings are notorious for their lack of intelligence. Known to have about the brainpower of an intelligent orang-utan they use tools such as crude knives made from stones and also stolen and poisons stolen from the smarter races. However, they still have an intrinsic natural awareness that allows them to survive in harsh conditions. Due to their low intelligence they perceive very little as a threat and have been known to attack Earthspawn (their smarter and larger cousins) in an attempt to get at a rotting piece of meat. They have a skill with languages only due to that brain area being very well developed for such a dumb and common beast. It is impossible however for them to speak more than two languages. The Greyling language itself takes up one of these but it is more akin to how dogs communicate, with motions and barks getting across simple ideas such as love and hate.
Most Greylings know a very pathetic version of common and none have ever been known to write in any language, not even their own. I conclude that in intelligence the Greylings are only more than beasts due to their extended knowledge of languages.
