The ants have been grown to about 1m tall, the queens can grow to about five times that height.
Their exoskeletons are made of carbon fibres, making them mostly bullet proof.
There are several forms of these creatures, although they all walk on four legs the front two have lots of variation.
Over time there will be more genetic enhancements as technology becomes better, leading to lots of variation from nest to nest.
They are very mobile, able to run across skree and water like it is a flat surface, they are even able to climb walls. Although this wall climbing is limited as after a certain height they tumble over backwards.
At first glance they appear like emotionless killing machine but those that understand them realise that they do have emotions, although some of those emotions and their concepts are very strange to humans due to the hive mind being essentially one consciousness made of many sentient creatures.
Queen- Once they are mature a queen can not move, their children construct a nest around them to protect them. These are generally the smartest of their kind, and the first type in which sentience was notices
Strike soldiers- they are much more compact than their kin, not only are their muscles stronger but they also have a much thicker exoskeleton that can withstand machine gun fire almost without harm. Their front limbs have been adapted to mantis shrimp like clubs that can shatter concrete. Their eyes are much smaller than the other variations, meaning they have limited visibility as they can only look forward.
Workers- These are the ones that construct the nest, maintain it, take care of the young and other tasks. They have hands that vary from very human-like to extremely alien, but they all pretty much act like hands.
Gun soldiers- These look rather spindly, with very large and very alien looking eyes giving them a creepy feel. These are the second most smartest variation and the ones with the strongest 'physic' disturbance. They have limbs that have been adapted to comfortably hold and fire a specially designed gun. They also have large glistening wings that shimmer with strange patterns.
Breeders- Made exclusively to mate with the queen, not much to note other than their endurance. Able to mate constantly for hours at a time before being dragged off to allow another to take his place.
Appearance (their exoskeleton would be black due to being made of carbon fibre and their eyes would have a strange alien glint)
