I am okay with the swearing rules, but some of the words changed by the filter are just plain stupid...

I mean cmon, we can't even say SEXY!

sexy is an extremly modern concept and makes no sence to have it in a roleplay situation where better words exist

I'll remove that word from the filter because it is in words that aren't bad, however the rest of the words are staying because they're blatant swears.

It was discussed within management and I decided it was a good idea if we want to improve the quality of roleplay here and actually be the mature roleplay server Altera claims to be.

You're free to mention it's a stupid idea, but without some solid reasoning of why it's a stupid idea, then the complaint simply fails because there's no reasoning behind it.

Firstly, there have been people over the age of sixteen who have been very immature as well down right unpleasant, not quoting any names, as well as that age doesn't directly correlate to maturity, taking examples from previous events and using facebook as an example.

Furthermore you avoided answering my question on the percentage, because if it's high then implementing this may either stunt the growth of the server or kill it off completely, thus backing up my statement of it being a "stupid idea". If it was in a staff meeting as you said previously then surely someone may have mentioned the fact that a fairly significant percentage of the player base is under that age.

And that would lead to either segregation of the players, or a decrease in moral, making those younger feeling confused, frustrated or either betrayed.

Also going back to the previous statement about maturity, there is no direct link between maturity and age, meaning that's a flawed argument, So yes i do believe this is a very... let's not say stupid but rather poor choice of direction for you to take this.

Considering my mother is over 50 and acts like a spoiled teenager, I'm very well aware of the fact that age =/= maturity.

Considering a lot of players lied about their age and many of them were even under 12 when they applied, yes, a majority of HW is made of under 15 year old's and the server management wants to change that. I didn't avoid the answer as I simply didn't catch it, I was busy focusing on the use of the word stupid.

If the people who are under the age limit that are currently whitelisted feel betrayed, then I don't see why, we're not removing anyone from the whitelist, we're simply preventing anyone at a certain age from joining the server.

If you keep implying I'm stupid or make poor decisions then I'll make a good one and ignore this argument.

Then you don't know how to argue, I was pointing out facts and also using your own words against you, you chose to use the word stupid, you chose to imply I make bad choices without any real explanation than accusations with no solid standing.

Are you under 16? Do you even come onto the server anymore? why does this decision offend you so much?

I think it's a fair enough point. I remember ages ago before the server was even whitelisted and playing when I was around like 11-12. I used to get angry other the most simplest of things would put stupid stuff in my chat and blame in on my "brother". I took a break and came back being much more mature for my age now that I can get on with 16+ and have a decent discussion. I think it will be good and make it more enjoyable for the community.
