I thought she was going to sing and it was going to be a pop song and then I'd have to explain the fundamental lyrical and musical differences between old european songs and modern songs all over again, but.
yeah it's just violin. admittedly with those electronic enhancements/beats/whatever you call them. which i assume is not part of a man's one-violin performance. Stars Align, what are those vocals. if you can find a pure acoustic violin version, that would be pretty cool.
I'm sorry if I seem too strict about the music, I just really care about immersion here, and the thing with most modern songs is that they have a lyrical and rhythmic style thats too far divorced from old european style music to ever really be converted into something that feels genuinely medieval.
like, for example, rock music was heavily inspired by older musical styles that ultimately trace their lineage not to classical european, but to african folk songs. of course, there's nothing wrong with african, and again, it would still be hard to convert a rock song into the style of african music, as the simple fact is, music is constantly evolving.
modern music is very clearly modern.
(I'll find some links talking about music theory and all that later. I'm lazy. I can, however, find youtube links to some medieval folk songs or songs that sound good enough to qualify)
