I must say, quite a few nations are taking a... unique approach to expansion. I'm see quite a few nations that claimed territories in a line rather than a circle. OOC, this is technically acceptable, but IC, the effort required to hold a line of territories is much greater than the effort required to hold the same number of territories closer to the mother province.
My RP explanation is that Binaris is attempting to reclaim the fjords that provide the country with most of its food via the fishing industry as well as provide the backbone of the economy with the large coastal cities up there.

Binaris is a Federation and each state in it is one of the map hex regions, and it's working along reclaiming its states from an unnamed event I'm still trying to lore up. Once the large north fjords are claimed the process is headed inland. This explanation also explains how the population is ballooning from 5 million to 14 million over a very short time. They're already there.

How'd it look, curious to see what the nations would look like in your perspective.
Well, since you asked for it...
Magenta (other than council) represents where I could see new nations going.
Dark Grey represents territories I have no clue whose control they'll end up under.
End Map.jpgBinaris is now Light Grey, yes.
This is just my current view on where I could see nations going. This is all subject to change as expansion progresses; Arhemia and Tarcheya, for example, could determine the fate of half a continent.

Again, these are just my views; I have no idea what goals each nation has in mind, so it's quite possible that nations will choose to expand radically different than I have in mind.

Thats actually quite close to what I had in mind for Arhemia.

Legend
Tarcheyan claim is pretty accurate there, Sinclair. I just wanted to own the entire river first. Historically it's a major part of the nation.

Close except shave off a bit of the west and add in the forest to my east and the land bridge connecting me to Arhemia and Tarcheya.

Question: As an island nation, can I expand into other islands, specifically the ones scattered around the world that are distant from any mainland?

Could I colonise these two please? I'd be using my military to coerce any natives into cooperating with me, in other words, my DF stat of 21. I think it's fully in my power to do this, and I think it could make for interesting RP. GLORIUS KOGATA.jpg

edit; ignore the kogatan admiral in the bottom, he's just happy.
