(HollowWorld is an English speaking server. People from around the world are more than welcome to join us and take part provided that they do their best to use a good standard of written English both in game and on the forums. Timezones will help you figure out the best hours to meet people.)
I’m from Canada (Ontario, to be specific). My time zone is Eastern Standard Time (EST).
4. Have you read the King's Law, Code of Conducts, Official Lore, and the Player Guides yet?

I’ve read the King’s Law, Code of Conducts, and guides, but I’ve yet to finish reading all of the lore.
5. In your own words, how would you define metagaming and powergaming?
(It is important to understand what these terms are and why they are bannable offenses in any roleplaying community.)
Metagaming would be using information that you know OOC to give yourself an unfair advantage, powergaming would be abusing in-game mechanics or min-maxing. Sometimes the two can overlap.
6. Do we allow X-Raying mods or X-Ray texture packs on the server?
(This question goes for any method that can be used to unfairly find and mine ores.)
Nope! Both are banned.
7. Tell us about yourself! Do you have any examples of your work?
(Introduce yourself! Tell us some of your hobbies, what kind of music you like, other games you play, maybe any pets you have. We're not asking for anything too personal, but we would like to get to know you a bit better to help the application and transition. This question needs to be a minimum of five sentences and not focused on Minecraft.)
My name is Adam, I’m 17 years old and I’m in my last year of highschool. I’m hoping to go to Uni soon and major in English, and maybe do a minor in French. I’m pretty new to Minecraft and gaming in general, but I’m really loving it so far. I also really like DND, and I actually got into Minecraft RP because my DND group couldn’t meet up anymore. I also like drawing. I prefer doing traditional art over digital, mostly because I find it easier to get the hang of. My hands always seem to shake when I use a tablet.
8. Did anyone refer you? If not, how did you find our server?

Current Setting of the Server:
The lands of Altera have long been laced with upheaval, supernatural turmoil that would threaten to shatter the realm or tear it asunder. Long, have the peoples of Altera withstood these tribulations, overcoming and persevering through the generations. Only too recently, have they settled the ire of Titans and Gods. Though the days were dark and long, the realm did survive, through tenacity and reverence. The memories of their trials behind them still fresh, the realm sits in a state of unease and angst . . . with eyes on the horizon.
In the skies above, the stars flicker and burn across the auburn colors of the setting sun, streaks of color in the gathering dark. The Realm of Altera awaits . . .

Human, True Soolera
Appearance:
(We just want to make sure things like hair color, eye color, skin color, and clothing is all fitting for the setting/lore we have.)
Anwar stands at 5’9 and has a slimmer build. His skin is darkened from the desert sun, but his eyes are a bright grey. He keeps his dark, curly hair short and pushed out of his face. His clothing consists of brightly dyed silks, loose and flowing to avoid overheating.

Like most Soolera, Anwar grew up in a caravan in the arid desert. Unlike most Soolera, didn’t particularly like caravan life. On the one hand, it was nice having such a tightly knit community. There was a certain comfort in knowing that he always had his family with him. On the other hand, there was such a thing as too much closeness. The caravan was tightly packed and left little to no privacy, and while Anwar loved his family to death, they could get on his nerves just a bit.
Anwar sighed as he fiddled with the wooden buttons on his vest, the smooth mangrove wood a comfort to him. He didn’t like to think so negatively, but it had been a difficult day. His parents had been hounding him about Fadma again, asking when he’ll meet a nice girl and get married.
“You really shouldn’t be messing with those buttons, you’ll end up tearing them out.”
Anwar pauses, looking up at his mother, before continuing the motions. “I can sew them back in if I need to.”
His mother clicks her tongue. “If you say so,” She adjusts her headscarf, “But don’t complain when you wear them down into nothing.”
He idly nods, zoning out again. His hands fall from his vest to mess with the coins sewn into the scarf at his hips. He turns a coin over, staring at it. The metal had been shaped to look like a leaf.
...Should I become Rooted..?
It was a scary idea, leaving the caravan, but it wouldn’t leave him alone.
“We’re stopping at a town for a night.”
Anwar blinked, getting pulled out of his thoughts by his mother’s voice. He stood up from his seated position, stretching a bit. He gathered up the silks he would be selling before stepping out of the wagon. The night air was cool, far cooler than the arid climate of the desert. He shivers a bit as he steps into town, pulling the silks up to his chest for warmth.
If there’s one thing he likes about caravan life, it’s the silks. He runs his hand over the soft fabrics, eyes studying the delicate embroidery.
I’d rarely get the chance to handle fabrics like this if I left…
Anwar isn’t too sure what he’d do without them. All the Rooted he’d seen wore such plain clothing, he couldn’t imagine himself doing the same.
He shakes his head, banishing the thought. Besides, he has fabrics to sell.
