PST : 5:00pm
EST : 8:00pm
GMT : 1:00am

An Open Joust Tourney hosted in the city of Ashstadt to all whom are inclined. This Joust is hosted in no particular ceremony other than the somewhat current peacetimes of Altera. There will be a custom golden trophy for the Joust Tourney winner aswell as "bragging rights". Bring your own gear if you like, however, equipment will be provided if needed. This event, stat wise, will be primarily RNG driven. It's RNG based because we want to give people an even playing field. If you're interested in the 'system' we will be using, look below. If you're participating, we'll just ask you have them pulled up so you know what rolls mean.

IF YOU PLAN TO PARTICIPATE
Drop the name of the character you wish to participate as in this thread's comments, accompanied with something saying "I'll participate" or "Yo I finna pull up and joust some people" whatever works for you. If you do drop your character's name in the comments and later find you won't make it, tell me! These sign ups are so I can establish a bracket of participants. Sign ups will close two hours prior to the event's beginning. Skim briefly over the simple system, or just pull it up (below) while participating. That's all!

The Jousting "System"
(Subject to edits)
(Edit 1 : Added tie note in [1])

Jousting works in two very basic stages

[1] Approach and Contact
As the two mounted Jousting Participants ride atop their steed towards one another, the contact is soon to follow. Upon contact, both participants Roll 1d20. The higher roll of the two participants wins that round, a tie- is well- a tie, however, the damage the victor has done to the loser is still undetermined ...

[2] Aftermath of Contact
The contact has happened, and blows have been exchanged. The victor is determined between the two, but can the loser take the blow well? The loser in the first rolling phase then Rolls 1d20 again to determine the impact their hit taken. The guidelines are vague for the roll outcomes to allow some creative freedom in your emote. Feel completely free to twist and bend at these guidelines if you think a result would better suit your character.

What the roll means :

20
The hit entirely bounces off your armor due to sufficient maneuvering. The round is now deemed a draw.

19 - 17
You are only staggered. The hit was minimal. This may leave a bruise, this may leave nothing.

10 - 16
You are dazed. The strike was powerful. Bruises are likely, breath may be taken, this will leave a mark. A piece of your armor may be dented.

5 - 9
You are stunned. You may drop your lance, your lance may shatter, a significant bruise will be left, a piece of your armor may be flung off.

1 - 5
You are dismounted. Bones may fracture, concussions may result, breath knocked out, this really really hurts.

This process will be repeated until a victor best of three is determined
