Backstory: Duncan grew up on the far edges of the southern wilds with his father. He never knew his mother as she died in childbirth. His whole life was focused on learning how to work like his father, and learning everything he could in the wilds.
He left at an early age to become an independent man, but still had the naivety of a young boy and struggled through his first few months alone. One night, he went with a few of his friends from his old village into the woods at night, so that they could hunt without the danger of lurking bandits, and could easily hide.
However, an encounter caused Duncan to lose his left eye. Infuriated he hacked at the animal with a stone axe, causing blood to be spilled all over his body. Giving him the nickname Red.
When people heard of this, many saw him in a different light. Not as a friendly person they could enjoy time with, but as a cold and bitter person, who many avoided. This encountered had changed him, and so he set off to try and change the way the worldd saw him, so that he may once again find peace.
