5. In your own words, how would you define metagaming and powergaming?
Metagaming: Using knowledge you've learned out of roleplay to give your character in finding items/knowing player weaknesses.
Powergaming: Powergaming is basically blocking other players from taking an action in roleplay. If a player was to emote this in a fight; "Cuts off your head and kills you." That would be an example of powergaming.
6. Do we allow X-Raying mods or X-Ray texture packs on the server?
Of course not, who would?
7. Tell us about yourself! Do you have any examples of your work?
I made some spoons, forks, jugs, pikachus, obi-wan’s lightsaber models, light coding in c# and javascript. I like computer stuff. Ask me if you want to see my pretty tree.

About Your Character!

Current Setting of the Server:
The lands of Altera have long been laced with upheaval, supernatural turmoil that would threaten to shatter the realm or tear it asunder. Long, have the peoples of Altera withstood these tribulations, overcoming and persevering through the generations. Only too recently, have they settled the ire of Titans and Gods. Though the days were dark and long, the realm did survive, through tenacity and reverence. The memories of their trials behind them still fresh, the realm sits in a state of unease and angst . . . with eyes on the horizon.
In the skies above, the stars flicker and burn across the auburn colors of the setting sun, streaks of color in the gathering dark. The Realm of Altera awaits . . .

Dwarf
Appearance:
(We just want to make sure things like hair color, eye color, skin color, and clothing is all fitting for the setting/lore we have.)
Shuvan’s appearance is quite unkempt, his eyes dark green, grey hair is long, messy and if he’s forgotten to bathe on occasion slightly matted. His facial hair is just as messy, long with big bushy eyebrows.
You’ll always see him in his tattered scholarly robes which he finds more comfortable to sleep in when he’s in the library.
When you see him you may believe him to be a little unhinged at times he has the look of a wild beast.

Written Test!
Bracken is pushed aside, stepped over by stout little feet. Critters scurry away as the dwarf struggles through the lush forest, scanning the flora around him for suitable ingredients. He bends down, pulling the small leather pack from his back to ground as he scoops his pudgy hands into the dirt, ripping out thistles and heather by their roots and dumping them in the pack.
After a short while of gathering, the dwarf throws his dirt and plant filled pack over his shoulder and makes his way back to the forest path. Only a metre away from the path his tired eyes spot a troop of long thin white capped mushrooms at the base of a tree.
“Ooohoo! Ya wee bugger!” The dwarf exclaimed with excitement.
He pulls a cloth from inside his robe, picks the mushrooms and inspects them briefly.
“Ah wonder what you lot do?...”
The dwarf pockets his mystery mushrooms and continues back to the path, ready to head home now.
Shuvan arrives at the library
He plants his leather pack on the table hidden at the back of the library from the surrounding bookshelves. Although it was mainly just him who visited the library he preferred the extra privacy. From the pack he pulls a thick journal, shakes the dirt off and drops it on the table. The journal is fitted with a large padlock and a note on the cover reading;
“SHUVAN’S BOOK
FUCK OFF”
After collecting several herbalist books and sorting his newfound ingredients he continues his studies.
Several hours pass
Books and pages lay strewn across the table, the dwarf muttering as he frantically scribbles notes and diagrams into his journal. He drops his quill, leaning back as he fumbles through his robes, taking out and placing the wrapped mushrooms on the table. After inspecting them the dwarf places a mushroom in his mouth, swirling it around with his tongue as he feels for its texture and taste, quickly adding more notes in the journal;
“Might be good with steak.”
“Gills feel soft.”
“Bulb tastes like shit.”
He swallows and continues scribbling. Some time passes and the dwarf stretches out his hand to grab another mushroom, as he looks over he sees the mushrooms have sprouted what appears to be roots at the base.
“W-waht in the…?” He mutters as he moves his head closer.
Upon closer inspection these roots were still sprouting as if in the shape of legs. The dwarf rubbed his eyes in a double-take, just as he was about to lift one up it jumped to life, now standing. He fell back into his chair in shock as he watched this mushroom sprout arms and wave at him before helping the others get to their feet too.
He grabs his quill and journal, writing down what he’s witnessing, stretching out the actions of the now sentient mushrooms.
“These mushies are brilliant!”
Soon enough the open books start to whisper to him, he can see the words on the pages fly out towards him. The other books on the shelves leave their places, flapping into the air like birds, the whole library came to life and the dwarf watched in amazement.
After all the excitement and conversations he had with the mushrooms and books the dwarf was once again found sound asleep slumped over the table, his journal now filled with peculiar drawings and incoherent writings.

About Your Character!
This section is about the character you intend to use once you join the server.We ask that new players follow these guidelines during this portion of the application:
- Characters begin with basic skills and gear. No advanced armor or weaponry. Skills and abilities are appropriate to a novice level. Skills should be learned through roleplay, not through backstory.
- Characters fit the lore. If you choose to play as a Moor Elf, for example, we expect appearance and details to be fitting with base lore.
- Characters cannot use magic in any way. The test itself should not mention magic either. HollowWorld uses a restricted magic system and it is only accessible to those who find and learn from a teacher in-game.
- Tests should not be violent. No murder, killing, death, torture. In the past, 8 out of 10 applications featured characters fighting off bandits or slaying passersby. We don't want to see how well you can script a fight scene. We want to see how well you can tell a story, how well you can roleplay.
- Be creative and be original. Do not use tests/characters whose home villages were burned, parents murdered, and then set off to be an orphan assassin. It has been done before. Please don't do it again.
- Written portion of the test is required to be a 400 word minimum. If the test doesn't meet the minimum, Staff may ask you to extend the test before the application is considered.
