Overview
The Dominion of Makorath is a huge, safe nation, remarkable for its Compulsory Military Service, corrupt politicians, and punitive income tax rates. The hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical, humorless population of 602 million Arcturians are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.
The large, corrupt, well-organized government juggles the competing demands of Defense, Law & Order, and Industry. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Brogan.
The powerhouse Makorathian economy, worth 70.2 trillion Imperions a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, with major contributions from Uranium Mining, Information Technology, and Woodchip Exports.
Geography
The Dominion of Makorath is made up of vast tracts of plains and occasional deserts with many mountain ranges jutting out of the land like ships on a sea. The nation has two forests both being located near or around the coast.
Capital
The capital of Makorath is Brogan. Named after the nation's founder and built on the land where he united the tribes under his rule. The city of Makorath while being the administrative center of the nation is also an industrial metropolis with numerous factories and it's evergrowing workforce. The city is built like layers of a circle with administrative buildings being in the center, then high class residential, then commercial, then industrial, then finally middle class residential. The city also is positioned 30 miles away from Ft. Arin, a Makorath Military fortification that serves as a military boot camp, a military vehicles depot, and as a garrison for Brogan.
The Underground
When the current Monarchs great grandfather was reigning he grew tired of the constant crying and begging of poor and unemployed citizens in the street. So he commanded the city's architects to dig tunnels underneath the city to put the poor begging citizens. Over the decades the tunnels have been expanded by the government and now house most of the city's low class citizens. In the last couple of decades the tunnels have been neglected by the city (Except for the police patrols.) and has become a ghetto of sorts.
