Appearance: Quite a thin character and very recognisable from his moustache which gives him the appearence of a posh and well groomed man which he is not. Although he did grow up in the slums of Elisania you would never tell from his appearance, he looks after himself and he keeps nice and clean, not wanting to fall back to his old self. He trims his moustache every day to keep it in check. Because of his adult life in a working windmill he always seems to be covered in flour.

As a child Josh never knew his father and he mother beat him often, he would go out for days with his dog wondering the land of Elisania, he planned for his whole life to run away and find an abandoned house and live there, but he never had the chance. Josh and his dog were inseperable and Josh gave his dog the strangest name which was 'Skunk'. One day when he was coming home from another of his adventures he decided that he was going to leave. He hastily packed his stuff and ran from his screaming mother who had retreived he trusty wooden spoon to beat him. He made it to the edge of the city with Skunk and they took refuge in an abandoned windmill. Both Skunk and Josh napped in the evening but when night cam Josh was extremely hungry so he went out looking for food. As he was walking back to the windmill with the bread he had found in the dirt where the market was the day before, he knew that it would be a good idea to fix the windmill. After about a year he had managed to bring the windmill back to its original state and was going to start to make a living from it. A few of the local merchants soon became regular customers of Josh's but once the city guard found out that he was living there illegaly they had him kicked out. Josh had already accumulated some wealth by this time and was planning to wonder the world of Altera and find friends and foes along the way.
