The walls of Barental were visited by a party of 5 riders, come to negotiate hostage exchange:

• Thane Knightess Nicolette Dowryne: The leader and standard-bearer of the group, come to negotiate hostage release. Clad in slate, worn armor bearing the crest of a white hound on a green field. Dark of hair, with soft blue eyes.
• Sir Fillian Klein: A soft-spoken man in armor painted red, carrying an axe where most would carry a sword. Held the Kilrox colors of black and red with a sigil of his aforementioned axe. Speaks with a heavy Northern accent.
• Sir Norris Spader: The elder of two brothers, newly knighted by Sir Fillian in recent weeks. He and his brother have taken a sigil of a silver spade on black soil. Fascinated by Kethron's flying airship.
• Pryce Spader: The younger brother, carrying most of the group's things on either his own back or his horse's pack. Where his brother wore a helm, Pryce's face is on full display; blond of hair and blue of eye.
• Lillis Hanover: The scarred woman can only move half her face, the other deeply lanced in a joust gone awry. She wears her brown hair down to cover what she has deemed--or been deemed to be her unsightly side.

The terms:

• Barental hands over the remaining two hostages alongside food and livestock.
• Barental provides siege equipment to the Kilroxians.
• The Kilroxians hand over their own collected prisoners, including:
  • Chastity & Charity: two young girls taken by Nicolette as squires to spare them a cruel fate.
  • Warburton: an infernal-possessed man used for gladiatorial combat.
