A GAME OF CROWNS
We are introducing fully-fledged Nobility to Hollow World !
Current Knight and Noble rank will be removed. Noble was never used.
Because Knights paid 50k to become Knight and because I'm taking away their rank all Knights will automatically become Nobility. Because all mayors spent money on their town and because they need to be nobility to be able to continue their town, I am also granting them nobility.
Nobility will work as follows:
When a player types /noble buy title they are charged an amount of money and they will become a member of the nobility. Being a member gives them the following privileges:
- The ability to set their own Noble Title! Noble title will show up similar to how Kings and Queens have their noble title. They will pick from a range of noble titles, such as Lord, Lady, Baron, Count, Countess, Duke etc.
An example: "[Adventurer] Lord Bob: hello!" or "[Ugly] Duchess Miki: yo"
The Noble title will show up in white. - The ability to buy 50*50 areas of land to build on. In other words, nobility is much like our current mayors. In history, nobility was often associated with land ownership. More information about how this will work will follow !
- The ability to create your own house.
Houses are similar to Guilds. So you would need to designate a House Lord and then anyone can join your house. The majority of your house should be family but you can have other members who are loyal to your house and carry the Sigil.
Once registered and paid you can design your own Sigil using the following template. I would request that you also come up with a house name (family surname), detailed family history and family tree for your House and also come up with a motto.
Houses are going to play a big part in the future RP of this server. The details of which are not known in full and will be revealed over the coming weeks. I would expect the majority of citizens of any given town or city to be generally of the same House.
A forum area will be created in due course with details of registered houses, their history, their sigial and member directory. Another feature we are already looking into is HouseChannels, similar to how we now have TownChannels.
Prices:
Becoming a noble will cost 50k
Buying a plot of land will cost 50k.
Starting a house will cost 50k.
Don't be scared of these prices, they are infact cheaper than they are currently. Becoming a Noble is very similar to becoming a Mayor with Towny. Previously you had to spend 50k to become a Knight, then another 50k to actually start the town. The town would then only have only 1 plot to build on, whereas now you get a bit more than 6 plots to build on. In addition to that, town prices were raised to 150k lately, so it is dropping back down again to more reasonable levels.
