KEY INFORMATION

Race: Human
Social Status: Merchant’s Wife
Sexuality: Her husband
Age: 48
Height: 5’6
Weight: 130lbs
Current Home:
On her way home

PHYSIOLOGY

Build: Mercy still manages to walk with her head held high, posture perfect, and moves with a deliberateness in her step. She is somewhat broad shouldered and with delicate hands.

Hair:
Lady Blackfire’s hair was once the color of rain-soaked willow bark, but is now striped with gray. It’s perfectly straight, though you could never tell with how she keeps it in a braid over her shoulder at all times.

Eyes: Lovely and blue like the sky meeting frozen tundra, with an added sparkle of the warm sun glistening through ice.

Skin: Starting to get a darker complexion from seeing some sun. A few wrinkles here and there around her eyes and laugh lines. A symbol has been branded onto her left cheek, the mark red and irritated with freshness of the burn. Snakes twirling around a dagger. Skin on her left hand burned at the palm a bit as well.

Blood Serpent's tattoo.png
Appearance: Mercy takes great pride in her appearance, though not because of vanity. She is diligent in her cleanliness and appearance because it is a matter of pride to be recognized as well-kept. It would be a shame to be seen in a slovenly state because life is all about hard work and appearances should reflect that. She has a stern and unwavering gaze that softens only when she is with Gwen.

Clothing:
350728e7cbb5ae938aa312d2b9154c96.jpgmercy.png

Weaponry: She can wield a pen and a strongly worded letter with ease.

Hygiene: Very clean and well-scrubbed.

Voice: Julie Andrews

QUALITIES AND FLAWS:

Personality: Mercy is very stern and no-nonsense. She has lost the chipper quality and perk in her voice, replacing it with something more matter-of-fact. She works tirelessly with her projects, entirely engrossed in efficiency and throwing herself into details. She fawns over Gwen and does everything she can for her, but to most people, Mercy comes off as obsessively neurotic about little things. If nothing else, it improves and aids in her need for planning and organization. She will always strive to see the good in people, but due to recent incidents, she will not be fully naive to believe betrayal is impossible.

Strengths: +A keen problem solver +Cool headed +Detail-driven +Efficient +Kindness

Fears: +Mice +Harm befalling her family

Weaknesses: +Physical altercations + A soul in need

Intelligence: Well-read and intelligent. Good with books and numbers.

Languages: Common, Elven

ETHICS AND MOTIVATIONS:

Religion: Jax

Alignment: Lawful Good

GOALS:
Short Term:

  • Start anew.
  • Leave Ilirea behind and move forward.
Long Term:
  • Keep Gwen safe.
  • Remain devout to the Pantheon.

Relations:

Family:
Harry Blackfire (Husband)
She loves him dearly and finds his jolly nature infectious. Intends to use every resource available to her to make sure he succeeds in his goals.
@Tomato150
William Blackfire (Son)
Is gud. He sons well. Big man now.
@Paintballz

Alice Blackfire (Daughter)
It is the greatest grief one can face to accept the death of a child. Mercy searched after her return to life, but she never found Alice. The sound of violin music will always be a reminder of Alice's joy, and also a source of great sadness.
@Sankera
Dawn Blackfire (Daughter)
Dawn chose that madwoman based on a refusal to return to Ilirea. It hurt almost as much as the assumed loss of Alice. She was just a child but that woman twisted her, and Mercy suspects her own death affected Dawn beyond repair. She is afraid to seek Dawn out again.
@Elz
Gwendolyn Blackfire (Daughter)
Utterly clings to Gwen, making sure she is in want of nothing. She showers the girl with gifts, books, and everything she could ever possibly want. It is Mercy's way of coping with the loss of her other three children.
@Patroklos Alexander
Peter Blackfire (Brother-In-Law)
Cheeky bastard, but she misses him still.
@Ace19

Catherine Blackfire (Sister-in-law)
An elegant woman of few words. Mercy likes her, but doesn't feel the same closeness she does with the rest of her family.
@Sir_Ashington

James Blackfire (Brother-In-Law)
It is good to see him back. His presence is much welcomed after... Well, with things the way they are, it is good to have someone to depend on.
@Immerael

Roran -- It is odd that she has a small fondness for him, given everything she suffered at his hand. But she sees a redeemable soul in him. She sees a man who only wants the best forh is family and Mercy hopes her words stick with him for years to come.
@BrianAT16

Zooey -- Maybe the girl will have a better life. Mercy wish she had more chances to speak with her, but their time was short together. Wishes her all the best.

Arts & Look-Alike

(I am too lazy to find a face-canon that is not a popular TV-show character. She was originally created to be Mary Poppins-esque, but.... She's kinda sort of Catelyn-esque too. Oh well.)

I think William needs a special relation for "People Who Give Me Heart Attacks"

The sound of the waves lapping the shore near the docks nearly overpower the dull screech of the gulls flying overhead in the waning dusk light. The birds flap and fight in the evening gusts, eventually gliding down for shelter. They alight on the docks in agitated flurry over sight of something below, a flash of red drawing their eye.

A lone gull screeches and hops on the slippery planks, coming upon a loosed coil of rope. A quick tilt of its head, the gull follows the end of the loosed rope, another hop to see where the end of it hangs off the edge of the wood. Its brethren edge closer, squawks and screeches as the birds come over to look at the red at the end of the rope. Even as the sun fades and winds pick up in howling cadence, the shape of a body is evident. A woman. Fallen from the dock, foot seemingly tangled in a rope, she lay as the only still thing as waves crash and air stirs.

A quick jump and the lone gull descends, looking curiously at this red dressed woman. Fallen away from the water, she rests with tangled rope amidst the construction of the Blackfire Warehouse. Another hop, over a crate, and the bird edges its way closer. Even in a state of tragic peace, the woman's eyes are open as if searching. Blue eyes affixed on nothing and everything, never moving as clouds roll in over the water, choking out the last of the light.

With curiosity, the gull comes up beside her. She does not move. Or shy away when a drop of rain falls from the dark heavens. She lays still even as a distant clap of thunder resonates through Ilirea, causing the birds to jump into startled flight. The lone gull takes to the sky, fighting the gusts long enough to take one last look at the woman with searching eyes, before following his kin to calmer places.
