He was yelling at you from the door when you layed him down to sleep he noticed when drunk and slightly remembers it sober. When you took it he didn't noyice but when you layed him down he could feel his sword not be on him and he wanted you to tell him what happened so he was yelling at you in a drunk tone then passed out. He checked his stuff the next morning and his sword wasnt there and he faintly remembers you as the last person he was with so he assumes it was you.
