5. In your own words, how would you define metagaming and power gaming?
Metagaming is the using game knowledge from outside of roleplay, in-game as an advantage. That information would basically include any gather information while being out of character.
Powergaming is forcing actions into other players or playing the game with the sole purpose of increasing influence and power on this character despite roleplay limits. In other words, roleplaying in such a way that won't allow another character a way to respond to the situation. ( For example, a human shoots an arrow at another human. Arrow pierces the human and does 3x damage while also poisoning the opponent and this causing them to explode. <--- This is a small example of power gaming )
6. Do we allow X-Raying mods or X-Ray texture packs on the server?

Yuto, the youngest among his siblings in a family of five who dwells at a small village in Altera. His mother works in the local town bakery tirelessly day and night to support the family. His father has yet to be seen from the day he learned to walk. The oldest amidst the sibling trio works as an apprentice blacksmith while the middle child spends his day fishing and lounging around. Yuto works at the bakery with their mother from time to time on the busiest of days carrying out daily deliveries to the inhabitants of the village. On the third day of the week, a mysterious mist has entirely enveloped the small village. The day was no longer day as the sun’s rays of light fail to pierce the inky fog. Night after night, the winds continue to howl and on the fifth day came the rain. The rain continues to platter the wooden shutters in the room in which he shares with his siblings. His mother left for the bakery as work should carry on despite rain or fire. The oldest of the trio left to repair small damages in the forge. The day pasts and strangely his mother and brother have yet to return. The middle child grows impatient and set out into the murky fog to find the missing family members. Hours go by, yet no answer. Yuto awaits for the return of his brothers, and his mother. This night was still, no hammering winds or dashing thunder. Even the rain seems to stop. Morning comes, and the sun’s light peeks through the wooden shutters of the window. Yuto awakes lazily, rubbing his eyes somewhat before coming to a realization that this family must be home. Yuto swings his head around frantically to find his brothers but fails to find them in the room. He darts out into the dining area only to find it empty. Confused and dumbfounded, he bolts outside to search for them. The sky was cloudless and the rays of sunshine warmly greet him. The village was oddly empty. The smell of freshly baked bread was absent and the cheery bustling of the town was non-existent. Only a hollow whistle rings through the village as the soft winds blow past. Something suddenly rustles in the shrubs nearby, Yuto cautiously backs up. The rustling suddenly stops and out came a small bunny. It curiously gapes at Yuto and bounds merrily away. Yuto, relieved and laughs at himself for becoming worked up from a bunny. He searches the village finding only some food otherwise failing to find any evidence of where his fellow people may have gone. As food begins to run low on the third day alone in the village, Yuto decides that it was best to set out to the nearest day village, a 2 day walk from his home. He packs his belongings in a small knapsack and sets out into the world, with the feelings of uncertainty.
Current Setting of the Server:
The lands of Altera have long been laced with upheaval, supernatural turmoil that would threaten to shatter the realm or tear it asunder. Long, have the peoples of Altera withstood these tribulations, overcoming and persevering through the generations. Only too recently, the realm tangled with the Behemoth Qlippoth, awakened by monsoon rains and with which came the Ashen Blight plague and eldritch abominations. Though the days were dark and long, the realm did survive, through its tenacity and reverence. The memories of the trials behind them still fresh, the realm sits in a state of unease and angst . . . with eyes on the horizon.
In the skies above, the heavens fall and burn across the auburn colors of the setting sun, streaks of color in the gathering dark. The Realm of Altera awaits . . .

About Your Character!
This section is about the character you intend to use once you join the server. We ask that new players follow these guidelines during this portion of the application:
- Characters begin with basic skills and gear. No advanced armor or weaponry. Skills and abilities are appropriate to a novice level. Skills should be learned through roleplay, not through backstory.
- Characters fit the lore. If you choose to play as a Moor Elf, for example, we expect appearance and details to be fitting with base lore.
- Characters cannot use magic in any way. The test itself should not mention magic either. HollowWorld uses a restricted magic system and it is only accessible to those who find and learn from a teacher in-game.
- Tests should not be violent. No murder, killing, death, torture. In the past, 8 out of 10 applications featured characters fighting off bandits or slaying passersby. We don't want to see how well you can script a fight scene. We want to see how well you can tell a story, how well you can roleplay.
- Be creative and be original. Do not use tests/characters whose home villages were burned, parents murdered, and then set off to be an orphan assassin. It has been done before. Please don't do it again.
- The written portion of the test is required to be a 400-word minimum. If the test doesn't meet the minimum, Staff may ask you to extend the test before the application is considered.
