Fan-Fic Archaeus's Timeline

Centurion

Dark Council Elite
I figure I should write this down somewhere, as I have it substantially developed and it's pretty neat to think about how much depth this character has in my head.

I'll denote where things go from HW canonically accurate into more headcanon / fanon territory to the best of my ability.

To classify things in the best way I can, I'll use the tags 'Before Exodus' and 'After Exodus' - BE and AE respectively. This refers to the End of Days campaign in which Sarah Grief was permanently defeated.

[Begin Pre-Hollowworld Events]

-Annudal Fronte is born in Oasis, 39 B.E.

-Archaeus Fronte is born in Oasis, a village in the kingdom of Tirithia; on the continent of Arualen, on the very last day of the year, 34 B.E.

-Archaeus's father is confirmed killed in war, 31 B.E.

-His mother remarries, 28 B.E.

-After prolonged abuse of his mother, Archaeus kills his step-father by use of a hunting knife just before he's able to choke his mother to death - 22 B.E.

-By law, the murder of the patriarch in the family is a death sentence - therefor, in concern for Archaeus's life, his mother takes the blame entirely, to Arch's protest. She is executed. Instead of being put into an orphanage, Archaeus instead decides to take care of himself - acquiring an apprenticeship with the local butchery of his village - 22 B.E.

-The capital city of Tirithia, Tirithia City, comes under attack by use of magic on a divine scale. The entity is referred to as 'Darkness,' an homage to one of the kingdom's mythical demons - 22 B.E.

-The city is effectively cleared of all living entities; human or otherwise, through means of death or escape. Archaeus and his older sister decide it's worth investigating and trying to help, and due to the fact that most of the citizens of Oasis had fled as soon as the capital city was attacked, they had no shortage of equipment to choose from. Arch makes use of an arming sword and heater shield imbued with the crest of their kingdom, a silver Phoenix over an inverted cruciform. Annudal makes use of her own bow, but instead of hunting arrows, she purchases war arrows from a merchant before he flees town. - 22 B.E.

-Archaeus and Annudal engage in direct combat with 'Darkness,' concluding with the mythical divinely enchanted sword "Time's Wrath" being forced cleanly through Darkness's torso. This results in a shock-wave that travels about ten miles in radius around the point of impact, freezing everything within that perimeter in a static state - appearing to stop the flow of time completely. Archaeus is spared the effects of the freeze due to having wielded the sword during the casting, however Annudal is ensnared by the stopping of time. Attempting to remove the sword from Darkness's body, he discovers that he is incapable of moving it. - 22 B.E

-Archaeus migrates, eventually joining a merchant caravan and traveling with them for the following few years, 21 B.E.
-Archaeus arrives in the human-dominated Aeonic Empire, on the continent of Aeonis, 16 B.E.

-After some prompting by the city guard of the capital and self driven interest, he signs on to join the guard. - 15 B.E.

-He is formally introduced to the reigning monarch, Queen Sasami Jurai, at this time. He is surprised that a mostly human empire is ruled by a woman of Forest Elven descent, but quickly becomes fiercely loyal. - 15 B.E.

-War with the Dark Elven conglomerate led by the clan of Natrizi'ma begins, 15 B.E.

-A plotted coup is prevented by Archaeus with the help of the Templars' Knight-Commander, Altin Cruado, and Arch is rewarded for this act by being placed in the ranks of the Hospitallers; the special forces of the Empire. - 15 B.E.

-Archaeus falls in love with Sasami, and over a few months, she finds herself holding the same feelings. After spending some time as her personal emissary and agent, the two of them are wed and Archaeus becomes the king-consort of the Aeonic Empire. - 15 B.E.

-Danniella Fronte is born to the pair soon after their marriage begins as the result of pre-marital relations several months prior. - 14 B.E.

-Conflicts with the Dark Elves escalate dramatically. Both sides have suffered severe casualties, though based on percentages, the Aeonic Empire has lost drastically more soldiers and civilians. Several of the Hospitaller Knights have been lost in this conflict. -14 B.E.

-Aleya Fronte is born to the pair. - 14 B.E.

-Elizabeth Fronte is born to the pair. - 13 B.E.

-A particularly devastating blow is struck to the capital city of the Aeonic Empire. Archaeus returns from a large scale engagement to find that the Queen, as well as Aleya, missing and assumed dead. Elizabeth is sent with Hospitaller Knight Jeremy Rolme, one of Archaeus's most trusted friends, far away from the continent of Aeonis in search of a better life and safety from the reach of the Dark Elves. - 10 B.E.

-Archaeus engages in openly genocidal warfare; targeting civilians and farmers, burning enormous tracts of lands, and devoting the entire military of the Aeonic Empire to a cause much larger than victory of the war - total annihilation of the Dark Elven conglomerate, and eradication of the race from the continent. - 9 B.E.

-This goes on for several more years before a desperate act led by Andras Natrizi'ma: the Aeonic Capital city of Stonefolk is infiltrated, and with the assistance of mages, the city is nearly completely destroyed by explosions. This causes a crippling loss of morale throughout the military. - 4 B.E.

-It only takes another two years for the momentum of the Aeonic Empire's forces to grind to a halt. Lack of morale led to several hundred desertions, and the sheer combat and tactical prowess of the Dark Elves' warriors was more than enough to eradicate the remainder of the military. Stonefolk is conquered and Archaeus is forced to flee with Rajaat, a mage known as 'The Weaver,' who would come to be the only other known survivor of the catastrophe. - 2 B.E.

-Rajaat parts ways with Archaeus, moving to safeguard the anomaly of Caer Xhan. - 2 B.E.

This enigmatic structure erupted suddenly and explosively from the earth, scarring and reshaping the land in dramatic fashion. Its smooth black walls rose high over even the tallest of structures in Cormyr and its sigils burned into the night.

Soon after its appearance and amidst the confusion of the people of New Cormyr, its eerily empty halls were claimed by The Weaver, Rajaat, who seemed entirely unsurprised that it had arrived. Those who have been within it speak of its malevolence: from the moment one steps in, to when they leave they can feel the stone watching them.

Rumors surrounded Caer Xhan and Rajaat's intentions. Some say it is an out of place artifact from eons past, while others believe it is from another world entirely. Or that it may have survived the Black Dawn, or even originated from it. There are no answers: only more questions. Its gates rarely open, but the castle calls to all when they do.
-After a few years of travel and bartering with trade caravans, Archaeus makes his way to the Northern Kingdoms. -0 B.E.

[End Pre-Hollowworld Events]

-The High Church is overthrown through the actions of Elrohir Engem and many others.

-Unknowing as to why, he finds himself pulled through the fabric of reality into a realm controlled by Skraag; where he, among several others, is pitted against the living corpse of Elrohir in battle.

-Archaeus meets Audric Elumeril, Nwalme Fuvur, and Gelyk Varyn; before long, a man named Quinn decides to challenge Gelyk in combat. Gelyk is joined by Audric, and Quinn is joined by Archaeus. This fight results in the gruesome death of Quinn by means of being burned alive in the fire outside the Merry Mead by Gelyk. Archaeus escapes, bringing this matter to the attention of the Silver Guard.

-Shortly after, Queen Leminth herself shows up outside the tavern, accompanied in the shadows by the Royal Ranger Dayter Arretez. After short interrogation, Gelyk is sentenced to death - Dayter's arrow piercing his skull and leaving him as a pile of ashes. Leminth is intrigued by Archaeus's having remained on a knee throughout her time present at the scene.

-Archaeus reforms a sect of the Hospitaller Order at an abandoned fortress South of the major cities of the Northern Kingdoms.

-Nwalme invites Archaeus to share a drink with him on the grounds of them both disliking Audric; Archaeus distrusts Nwalme, and ends up accusing him of poisoning his drink. Archaeus draws a sword. A living spirit named Cloud as well as a woman mercenary assist Nwalme in the subduing and detaining of Archaeus. Nwalme takes Arch to the cells of the city's prison, removing all of the fingers from his right hand and cauterizing the cuts with a torch while he's unconscious.

-Archaeus finds himself infatuated with Queen Leminth after a few more interactions, filling his time in the cell by teaching himself to write more neatly with his left hand. This journal ends up containing a more than a few words of affection involving the Queen.

-Eventually, Archaeus is released from holding and Nwalme is told to knock it off; Arch is told by Leminth to simply avoid him. The journal had been confiscated by a guard and taken to Leminth, who never commented on the contents.

-Archaeus visits the Silver Palace with the intention to gain endorsement of his Hospitaller Order from Queen Leminth. It is here he meets Piper, unknowing that she is the adopted daughter of Leminth and Naelwyn, and he strikes a deal with her for entry into the palace. This results in him being put in a frilly pink dress that is five sizes too small and paraded around on a horse.

-Leminth listens to his request, though does not offer endorsement; it is viewed as unnecessary. Afterwards, Leminth leads Archaeus to meet Vorar; where the three of them discuss some details of the Exodus and the Alteran peoples' ancient enemy: Sarah Grief. Archaeus is also given a lesson in history regarding Scardrac Dormus, the Hellhound, and Vorar shows off the old scythe that had belonged to him before his death at the hand of Naelwyn.

-Archaeus engages in a duel with Audric, it being his first major fight; it lasts quite awhile, both parties sustaining significant injuries, but the intervention of Dayter caused the battle to end abruptly after a concussive arrow made its way to his head. With Arch presumed dead, Audric leaves with Elizabeth to tend to his injuries.

-Archaeus pisses off the wrong people once again, and the Assassins' Guild led by Kharn Sicarus shows up on the doorstep of his keep - accompanied by Melanie Brom'Krah, a woman with a very peculiar right eye. He escapes through means of an underground tunnel system, racing back to populated land to hire a few more people to aide him in ridding his home of assassins; though, to his shock and dismay, Archaeus learns that those he hired - Mia and her lover Syr, specifically - were also a member and an ally of the Assassins' Guild. He is cornered and forced to the edge of a cliff, where he is impaled and thrown down. This is Archaeus's first experience with death; and upon reawakening at the temple of the Sisterhood of Shalherana, he is supremely confused. However, not remembering that he had been killed in the first place, he quickly gets over this confusion and makes his way back to Port Silver.

-Archaeus is present for the death of Magnus Arcturus as a friend of Marcus's.

-Archaeus meets Felicia Brom'krah, sister of Melanie and sister-in-law to Kharn Sicarus. The two fall in love and begin a romance that stretches across worlds themselves.

-While attempting to keep Audric away from his daughter Elizabeth, he is nearly killed by the girl. Audric takes him hostage to avoid the attack of a few of Archaeus's allies, and ends up cutting his left hand's thumb off and gorging out his left eye. These wounds are tended to by Melanie and Felicia Brom'krah, after Melanie transports him back to their home in Aeroch Nor.

-Panic ensues as the first major strike is dealt by the Armies of Naught; the Exodus is rushed into occurrence, and Port Silver is evacuated as quickly as possible. The Warcamp is established, and Arthorius - son of Marcus Arcturus - is crowned as Lord of Arcturus; officially committing their military force to the war effort. Arthorius is named a General under Queen Leminth, alongside the pirate king, dwarf baron, and the immortal soldier.

General Daniel Draiden said:
They assaulted us right out of the gate.

We never stood a chance.
Tauredal was up in flames before we even knew what was happening.

And I shudder at the fate of Stormhold.

The People of Altera were... are strong... but this level of organization I have not seen from the armies of Grief since the First War.
And there were millions of us then.
The First War broke us into a mere shadow of what we were.

Grief mostly employed specialists and officers. When they took the field, they left carnage in their wake.

I can only hope the Kings will help us.
-Archaeus meets the demons Fury, Despair, and Slaughter as the band of soldiers he accompanies decides to try and take back the land they had corrupted. Archaeus, Ulfberht, and Kharn Sicarus end up trapped underground by Fury; Ulfberht loses his sword and Kharn kills him in exchange for escape from the pit. Archaeus is let go after some talking.

-Archaeus is placed under military arrest by Arthorius, given strict orders not to leave the Warcamp without a high authority's permission. He goes on to ignore this command, venturing to the Arduin forest where he met Fury as well as Slaughter later on. He discussed several things with Fury, eventually being led down to the very edge of the Void - where he was put, essentially, face to face with Queen Grief, on the edge of her nine dimensional prison. The two of them conversed briefly. Archaeus was made an offer, and he accepted this offer. After awhile longer of discussion, Fury released Arch back into the overworld.

-Archaeus is stripped of his worldly citizenship for insubordination and direct defiance of authority in a time of crisis by Queen Leminth. His life is held with no more value than a wild animal's, and to place his murderer under arrest or give them a trial is illegal.

-The Battle of Moonlight, also known as the Battle of Moonguard, takes place. Asher Wise lands the killing blow on the demon Nemesis, and is granted the title of Demonslayer by Queen Leminth. Archaeus is severely wounded trying to save Melanie and Audric from being left behind in the chaos of battle, having to be dragged back to the medical tent at the warcamp. A large amount of his flesh had been fused with his robes, and he had a few lacerations; but with enough rest and repair he was back to capability within a few days.

-The Battle of Mirage takes place; Archaeus and Gelyk fight together at the Southernmost dimensional portal, while the majority of the other forces combat the stream of Naught soldiers pouring out of the northern side. It is here that Archaeus first developed the theory of Elementals by accident, through realizing that the demon Fury was the corruption itself, instead of an entity manipulating it. (This was later proven to be true by revelation of the Elemental named Obsidian Mountain, who Fury went on to become.)

Archaeus's Field Log said:
Assault on Mirage met with victory.

-Frontlinesman class approved, given equipment.
-Moved for Mirage by boat.
-Regrouped with other frontlinesmen; Gelyk, Syr, and myself were the only that came forth.
-Gelyk and Syr aided Kharn Sicarus with the duty of destroying the first nether portal, as I worked alone in defending their backs from the portal on the adjacent side.
-Aided in destruction of second portal.
-Aided in destruction of third portal.
-Aided in defense from forth portal.
-Aided in rescue of Dayter Arretez.
-Halted attempt on Leminth's life by a green exploder.

You forgot the part where we spent about 5 hours in a fight where it was myself, Sophe, and Deash trying to explain to you that your character should've died like 4 and a half hours ago.
