[Children's Story] Dragon and Knight

MRPolo13

The Arbiter of the Gods
Yay for children's tales! Feel free to use it in RP if you wish to shut your kids up. Funnily enough, Albareth already did.

Once upon the time, there lied a kingdom, far, far away. It was a beautiful hold, the city flourishing and the palace built of white marble with wonderful pointed roofs. The king was a wise, aged man, who was loved by his people and who loved them too. There was little poverty in the small country. No beggars and no wars. There was only one issue...
A dragon, as tall as the tallest tower of the Port Silver Cathedral, with beautiful, yet threatening black and red colours, eyes flaming gold and wings which turned the light of summer noon into darkness. It attacked the nation, burning villages and slaughtering animals. In desperacy, the king sent out his finest warriors to face the dragon, who took up a home atop the tallest mountain nearby, but they stood no chance against the beast.
Months have passed, the dragon plundering lands that once flourished. People grown weary and scared, and the king promised a huge sum of money and lands for the one that would get rid of the dragon. And tens of brave knights went and faced the beast, but all failed...
One day, the whole city gathered for an unusual sight. Here was a knight, who brought laughter to all of the folk. Here was a knight, riding atop a lame horse, with rusted armour and chipped sword. The knight slowly made his way to the town square, where the king, hiding a laugh, greeted him and wished him good luck. The knight thanked in high pitched voice, and left the city once again, followed by amused laughter.
The dragon slowly creeped its head out of the cave when it noticed the rider. It looked for a moment, and searched about to see if there is some sort of a trick, then bursted out laughing. The deep laughter mixed in with the laughs of city folk, when the rider dismounted and slowly walked up to the dragon. The beast, not sure what to do, moved its head forward, but the rusty knight didn't seem scared. He slowly took off his helmet, to reveal long, black hair, a soft smile and large, wonderful eyes. She came closer to the dragon, and kissed it with care...
The dragon opened its eyes wide, then started shaking slightly, and poof! a huge explosion of light pushed the girl away. Where dragon stood, a young man lied. He looked at her lovingly.
"I have been trapped in this shell for too long," he said, and stood up, then hugged the beautiful girl. "Thank you... thank you dearest."

And so it was that they got married. The man, once a fierce dragon, now a fierce lover, stayed forever true to his wife, and vice versa. The king, happy to see his long lost son who was the dragon, gave them land and after his passing the entire nation. They lived long and happily, tales ebeing sung of the Rusty Knight's wisdom and love...
