I deleted the old thread because I thought I wouldn't be able to participate in the RP at all but @Gaby convinced me otherwise, for better or for worse. So yes, prepare your butts, because this is the Ellysus Megathread V2.

Note: I stopped playing because I did absolutely no RP as I only do this as a joke and I'm not comfortable interacting with the other, serious nations. Chances are I'll just be rp'ing with the smaller/other non-serious nations.
Ellysus in a nutshell:
Ellysus is a economically powerful country, run by a government that was overtaken by a very financially powerful casino company. The government still has a Council, but it's effectively useless, as the casino has the final say regardless. The casino is almost entirely concerned with the economy and does not maintain local disputes, environment protection, or lawmaking for the most part. Gambling is encouraged to the extreme, with kids of all ages admitted into casinos.
Ever since the government was bought out, some crazy developments started to occur within society. Marriage laws were thrown out of the window, with some extreme cases now legal; such as people marrying pets. STI's are a huge problem because of a recent nudist/love trend, but it's rather self contained because of the forced lack of emigration. The nudist trend has even infiltrated the military, where wearing clothes is forbidden.
The military of Ellysus is rather strong, with the compulsory military service and the large portion of government spending. The younger, recent drafted soldiers like to protest with a "Make love, not war" mindset but they are quickly bent into shape. The military is often the only schooling a teenager will get, as public schools are very rare and underfunded.
The divide between the high and lower classes is rather extreme. Crime is excessively common, because of this lower class and the lack of police and prisons. In some places, crime is actually encouraged, with tournaments among burglars to see what valuables they can claim within a specific time frame.
