The road to Winterguard is long and winding, four days march or so I hear.
And in the ruins of Hummelburg, the spectre of Protaras lingers.
Will you aid the northern lords and take up arms to defend the nobles? Or will your lust for gold prove too strong?
The Event Itself
Hello everyone, together with Sadko, I’ve put together an event that will form the start of a short series of events in the Kingdom of Hierax. In this first event, we hear rumours of bandits inciting the dread legacy of Protaras to strike fear into the hearts of travellers. Are they simply looking for gold, or is there something more malignant at work? Are their claims of fabled legacy true?
A Renatun envoy will be touring the kingdom of Hierax, and bandits will be given free rein to choose their point at which they assault it, their primary goal will be to kill the guards, and take the nobles hostage for ransom. The goal of the nobles/guards will be to survive, either by routing the bandits, or by fleeing to Winterguard which is too tough for a group of bandits to crack.
That said, only primary victory conditions are set in stone, how you go about the attack/defence will be up to you!
Important Information/Recruitment details
Therefore, I’m looking for participants to play temp-characters in the event, primarily around ten-twelve bandits, and 4-6 guards, 2-3 from each involved Kingdom.
Combat will be run in rp, through the whisper channel, though deaths will be announced in the regular rp channel, so I can keep a handle on what’s happening.
I have an overall idea of how I want this campaign to go, that said, since I will be leaving at least a week between events, how this progresses will be entirely up to the players involved.
Furthermore, the events leading up this event are likely to be rped, so if you want to get to know your role, you’re more than welcome to organise small rps up in Hierax as either bandits or guards!

If too many people want to get involved, I might have to tweak the event, but I do have contingency plans, so we’ll see how it goes!
So, if interested, mock up a thirty second temp-profile with details like age/apprearance/race and whether you want to be a bandit or guard. I ask for little profiles, since you may want to carry this temp character over to the next main event/involve it in smaller roleplays in between, cheers!
* as I've said, the use of Protaras is likely to enhance his legacy, rather than any actual link of any kind to the long dead bandit Kingdom.
