Keep the Elven Language Safe

Dr.Patriot

Lord of Altera
Five or six posters are nailed at Crossroads, showing no signature or sign of from where they originated. The posters are written in what would seem to be fairly nice handwriting. The poster itself does not stand out much from others aside from the fact that it's written entirely in Elven script.

Elves of Altera Please Take Notice
As many of you may have noticed, more and more NonElves in Altera are being taught our sacred Elven tongue. Our language was given to us by Shalherana and she gave us her confidence that we would not abuse it. When a Non Elf learns the language a slight is made against the language and against us all, it is a sign of how the language has fallen out of our hands and into decay. Out of respect for our sacred tongue, please keep it within the bounds of Elvenkind. Please refrain from teaching the language overmuch, and if you take notice of another Elf teaching the language, please remind them to be cautious and wary of how they treat their language and how much they matter in the grand scheme of things.

In a perfect world, the understanding of the language would be limited to we the Elves, and communication with Non-Elves would be done through the use of Common. Unfortunately this is not truly an attainable objective. Despite this, we as Elves must do our best to come as close to this goal as possible. An Altera where our language belongs as much to us as possible.

-With much solidarity, a concerned Elf

<We must deign to speak Common to the other races, but it is a necessary trifle if we are to preserve the mother tongue!>

Vorar would roam by, politely writing translations in the margins to make it easier for others to read the posters and taking down the most dated of the increasingly thick pile of posters.

*Dax would approach one of the many posters, squinting as he struggles to read. If one were to examine his face, you would notice that he seems rather tired. He would then dig into his baggage for an ink bottle and a feather, dipping the feather into the ink and moving to write at the bottom of the poster. Dax's face seems to look as though he's concentrating, biting on his protruding his tongue. Dax would then move to cross out "-With much solidarity, a concerned Elf" and replace it with "Yore Eighnus." As he seems rather pleased with himself, he moves to walk off, tucking the items away as travels to his next adventure!*
