Under Construction. If you have stuff to add, like relations, let me know below and I'll add them. Going to work on Present and Future. This coincides with a stronger commitment to RP.

Consider this a request for pointers on how to improve my character sheet, such as adding voice, drawings, and the like. Since I have less drawing ability than your average rock, please also consider this to be a request to help me "color" my character sheet with artwork!

Through extensive research, Morgan has discovered the following information about his ancestors. Most of what is to follow is considered "myth" and "legend" and may not be true at all.

Thousands of years after the elves gained elongated lifespans, Evelyn Greenleaf, a forest elf, fell in love with Cerendor, a human, and began to search for ways to prolong his time with her. She began to delve into ancient elven magical history to search for a way to grant him immortality. In the meantime, Ad'amar, an elf, grew jealous of Cerendor, for he was Evelyn’s arranged partner, and he had recently had his way with her. Evelyn found a book that supposedly revealed the secrets of immortality and asks Cerendor to come to her. Ad'amar finds out that Cerendor is coming and confronts him. Ad'amar kills Cerendor, shattering the human’s famous golden sword “Highlander” into six pieces. Evelyn picked up a piece of the sword and ran off. There she gave birth to Rowan. It is believed that she died after giving birth, only to be resurrected by her son many years later (myth- may or may not be true). Before dying, she set up a vault just for Rowan. She gave the key to the chief. Rowan is found by his presumably dead mother's side and was taken to the far reaches of the land, settling in a small village in the mountains. The leader at the time, realizing what Rowan was, decided to protect the boy and entrusted him to the care of his right hand man, a so-called Lord of Embers.

20 years later:

Rowan was trained to be a warrior, and it soon became clear to him that he was superior to his human friends in nearly every physical way. He is faster, taller, and a better fighter. His "father", Ad'amar, tried to kidnap his son from Lord Ember. He drugged Rowan, but failed to smuggle the boy out of the city. When Rowan came to, Lord Ember told him that he is not his son. He tells the boy that his mother died during childbirth, but they are not sure who the father was, but that he is an anomaly elf and must leave the city. As such, it is believed that he is of human-elf lineage, a bastard of the elves.

He ventured out alone to confront the old chief. When he takes off his helmet, however, the chief arrested him. When he says his name, the chief released released him and gave him the key to the vault. Rowan went to the vault and found a book he could not read, a note from his mother and a shard from a golden blade. The note read, “by now you are of age and are ready to know why I am no longer here. I left so that you may live. This shard is from your father’s blade. Find the other five shards and reforge the blade your father once wield. Keep this book safe; it is more valuable than the world’s greatest treasures. Two stones existed. One is left.

Rowan returned to the chief and asked about his mother. The chief was just about to reveal that his mother was elven when he was shot and killed by Ad'amar. An arrow tipped with poison pierced the old Chief's heart. Ad'amar and Rowan fought and Rowan was knocked out. While asleep, what he believed to be an elven god appeared to him in a vision and told him that he will find the stone in a specific location. Rowan, not understanding, waved it off as a pointless dream. When he awoke, he was in a jail cell in the forest elven capitol. An elf named Rose came to visit him and helped him break out. At this time, she knew who he was but he did not know who she was. She gives him the second shard from his father's blade, that she acquired??!? He shows her the book. She says she knows somebody who can help, but it won’t be easy to reach him because he was in a cell in Tahkul Rimtar. They ventured there and embarked on a successful mission to free him. During the process, it is clear that he has fallen for her. The old elf-scholar read the book to them, revealing the (supposed) secret of immortality. He said they must find the Cylum stone. He must surround the top and sides with glass and the bottom with dragon’s teeth (obsidian). At this point, Ad'amar appeared and killed the prophet. Ad'amar and Rowan fought again, but this time Rowan was stronger. Ad'amar disappeared, recognizing that he cannot take both Rowan and Rose at the same time. Rose and Rowan decided to go back to the human city. When they get there, they visited the leader. The leader arrested them (because elves). He agreed to release them if they tell him what the book says (the King knows the legends of longevity, for it had been passed down for generations). He agreed to let them go in exchange for making them bring the device to him so that he could become immortal. He gave Rowan the third shard from the sword in exchange. When they leave the castle they find the city under surprise attack and half the city ransacked. The leader spied the attacking leader and battled him. The king dies. The attackers take over the city, but their king returns to their home city. Rose and Rowan follow him back. While there, they search for the stone. They discover that the city was an ancient human city and found Cylum’s “grave.” They dug up his grave and found the remaining Cylum stone. On the way out they got swarmed by the city's guards and must fought their way out. When they finally broke out, they heard news that a band of rogue elves had attacked the humans (because they found out the King knew the secret of longevity) and successfully ransacked the city. Rowan was upset because his step father, Lord Ember, was captured and was due to be hung. He and Rose mounted a raid in elven camp to save him from a certain death. They successfully rescued him. He revealed that he knows Rowan’s true father was Cerendor and gave Rowan the fourth shard to his blade. They told him that they need dragon teeth. He told them that the only known way to break dragon teeth from the ground is with a special diamond pick. Rumors were that it is located in the Dwarven city. They traveled there, only to find it completely deserted. The Dwarves had retreated to another hideout, Ember says. When they got to the royal treasure room to look for the pick, they got caught in a trap and needed to fight their way out. They succeeded, but Lord Ember dies. Ad'amar was back on their trail, and this time he wielded a sword with a golden shard coming out. The last shard of Rowan's father's sword. Rowan and Rose battled Ad'amar, knocking the sword out of his hands. As they were about to kill him, a fat dwarf entered the room and advised them not to do that. This time they made sure Ad'amar could not escape. The dwarf was blind and didn’t know that the others had left. The heroes discovered that the dwarf used to be a master smith. By feel, the dwarf reconstructs the Highlander, Rowan's new blade. They ask the dwarf about the pick. He said it was long lost at the edge of the world itself. The heroes asked if there was any way to recover it. The Dwarf told them that there is a gate to the edge of the world nearby. The heroes, along with Ad'amar, who has revealed that he is Rowan's father (falsely), fought through and eventually found the portal. They went through the portal. There they find Rowan's mom, Evelyn battling a nasty horde. (How was she alive?) The four of them killed the horde, found the pick, and mined the dragon teeth. They crafted the immortality device, which they believed would give Rowan longevity so he can be with Rose forever. When they leave, they end up at Cylum’s grave, completely surrounded by their enemies. Rose, Evelyn, Ad'amar, and Rowan fought through as best they could, eventually making it through the hordes. Evelyn and Ad'amar then began to battle, which Evelyn started. He struck Evelyn with a mortal wound; Rowan, using Cerendor's blade, the Highlander, killed Ad'amar. Rose and Rowan retreated and lived out the remainder of their lives in exile, with Rowan gaining immortality.

Immortality comes with a price, however, and the secret was not as it appeared. Rowan began to suffer, physically and mentally, foretelling of grievous events and hordes of skeletons attacking the city, led by an undead-king. He got very sick, until one day he levitated 4 feet into the air, started screaming, and collapsed dead.

He woke a few days later in a destroyed city, wearing a crown made of bones. Immortality indeed! Angered by his death and being cheated, he sought revenge. He also sought to kill Rose so she could again be by his side. He rode, with his skeleton army, ransacking the city. Finally, he found and killed Rose. The sword, Highlander, again shattered as it cut through her. Rather than become undead, Rose ascended into the afterlife, forever leaving Rowan alone.

To this day, monsters appear in the night because of Rowan's anger at being tricked into an "immortality" of death.

The table had five settings for the first time, as young Morgan joined his family for dinner. He was uncharacteristically small and developed slowly, so slowly that his parents and siblings feared he was an anomaly. Once in a great while, an elf is born who is not of elven stature. The elves have exiled the anomalies, sometimes sending them to the humans, sometimes sacrificing them to the Gods. Alas, that was not Morgan’s fate, for he finally showed elven characteristics

That did not help him much, though, for he was continually physically overshadowed by his siblings and his peers alike. His only physical strength, speed, came from necessity, for he was often put in alarming or physically dangerous situations. It was this display of speed that brought him his current status, allowing him to eat at his family’s table for the first time. He never ate with his family again, for the scrutiny of his parents and brother was too overpowering for him to overcome.

That night, he gathered his belongings and snunk off to the temple. Two weeks later, he began his initiation rituals and became a monk of sorts. While at the temple, he learned the wonders of language, both written and spoken and mastered the art of calligraphy. In his freetime, he made and sold elven nectars, which the Temple used to keep its coffers full. He never did fit in, even there, for as time went on he began to doubt the legitimacy of the Gods he swore his life to. Instead, he grew fascinated with mortality, which led him to study the human race (and develop ideas about his ancestry...)

Years went by, and Morgan’s knowledge grew. He learned the arts, the basics of architecture, and studied languages. In his free time, he studied weaponry, dreaming to become a human Knight.

On the eve of his 25th birthday, he discovered a passageway in the cellars of the temple, leading out. And left he did.

He returned home to find that his parents had virtually erased him from their memories. Only Wollston and Alis, his siblings showed any compassion. He set out make a name for himself, heading to Port Silver to prove his fighting abilities.

There, he found that he was not quite a good fighter. In fact, he was quite cowardly. He feigned and exaggerated injury but stayed with it until one day he was thrown off the roof of a tavern, shattering his leg. To this day he doesn't walk correctly, favoring his right over his left leg.

After being thrown off, he decided to explore two other avenues, architecture and commerce. He began drawing sketches and was soon hired to build in Funera Voca and Thiil. In the meantime, he opened a Curiosity Shoppe in Port Silver.

When Port Silver fell, he lost everything and resorted to wandering the Northern Kingdoms making insignificant deals. Eventually, however, he reestablished himself and acquired a small town called Lydel.

From there, he dreamed of a new city, devoted to commerce, trade, and neutrality. He named it Tambry and hired builders. The town progressed quickly, and he began to dream of acquiring other properties, including the ancient kingdom of tahkul rimtar.

Finally, he established House Stirling, the ruling body of Tambry. After several years managing Tambry, acquiring properties throughout the Kingdoms, and trading to his heart's content, Morgan became curious about his family legacy. He left Tambry in the hands of his brother, Wollston, and traveled to find his father. He discovered much about his family, some of which seems hard to believe (see family history), but his beliefs were reignited by the sighting of undead in the Kingdoms. He never returned to Tambry, as he had heard it had been ransacked by undead.

He traveled anonymously to the new lands, spending some time in Storm's Landing. He then heard that Compendium, the region of knowledge, was to be sold. He purchased it, and is not sparing no expense building a new Archive, collecting artifacts, and growing the town. That brings us to the present!
