Tarjikstan is ruled by an absolute supreme leader, General Asad ibn Aslam. He rose to power when the former Sultan, Tuleiman ibn Alhazir, suffered a tragic heart attack. Sultan Tuleiman rose to power during a period of civil war, and took the throne when his armies, loyal to Tarjikstan, defeated the rebels, and he declared himself Sultan. General Asad was named heir to Sultan Tuleiman, who grew fat and unhealthy in his old age and did not want to die and leave the country unstable.
The nation is almost entirely Muslim, and with the military following the religion fanatically, Tarjikstan takes the term "spread your religion by the sword" seriously. The military does not believe in throwing away old tools, and only the elite forces of Tarjikstan have true modern weaponry, with the rest equipped with weapons that wouldn't be out of place in a terrorist cell or former Soviet state. Only the Navy is truly advanced enough to face off against foreign threats and keep the peace.
Tarjikstan gives up technological advancement at a fast rate, in exchange for a booming economy, large military, and religiously fanatic populace. The nation's prized railguns and combat walkers would not be possible without the influence of Tarjikstan's allies, as would the space station Jannah in orbit.
Geography
Tarjikstan is a tropical and desert island similar to the Middle East of Earth, with jungles in the north, and a central lake that, thanks to a canal, nearly separates the island in two. Southern Tarjikstan is much flatter with desert and scrubland mixed in at random. Tarjikstan is split into four emirates, similar to large provinces. The leader of an emirate is known as an emir, and can also serve another role in government.

Military
Tarjikstan's military is trained to compete with the best of them, but equipment ranges from weaponry used in the Independence Wars of 1961 to modern smart rifles and railguns. The Navy is by far the most advanced, equipped with the finest armour, weaponry, and engines capable of being produced in Tarjikstan's shipyards.
The Tarjiki airforce has a smaller presence on the mainland, and has transitioned to aircraft carriers and offshore forts equipped with helipads. The remaining aircraft on the mainland are troop carriers and huge cargo transports for carrying vehicles and special forces across the sea to foreign lands. The armed forces has forts across the country, and an outpost in every major city. The government has long believed in a peaceful populace by force, and there is little line between the military and the police.
There is one rule in Tarjikstan when it comes to army equipment - if it isn't broke, don't fix it. Prop planes and old jets are still used to train air force pilots, and vehicles are made modular, to be equipped with new weaponry as they are developed. Outlawed tools of war such as flechettes and chemical weapons are still found in Tarjiki armouries, but are unlikely to be used except in times of emergency. The nation's many nuclear missiles are kept in secret silos across the countryside, hidden from view by careful camouflage.
