Hello friends! We are BRINGING back the Monthly Newsletter to keep you up to date and focused on what is happening with each department.
Welcome to the March edition of the Hollowworld Newsletter!....
[ SERVER UPDATES ]
EVENTS,
The Event Team and Staff DMs continue to work through the Event Request Thread over the course of this quarter as their main focus. There are some event Arcs that are ongoing, such as the Know Arc, Eventtide Arc, the Grey Band Arc, and more. Other event series, such as the one focused around the Hellscape will continue to be ongoing and will evolve around player interactions. We continue to encourage players to try their hand at minor DMing on a player level.
DIVINE,
The past month has seen a lot of changes for the Divine Team. Somnastra is the new lead of the department, and mageaegis and Mudpaw11 have joined as staff members, with Book joining as a junior member to help out with writing and balancing. Unfortunately, GhostKairo resigned during this time as well, and we'd like to thank him for all the work he's done up to now (which was a lot).
The first order of business will be to catch up on various tasks and tickets, but we will soon be reviewing divine spells side-by-side with the arcane team to ensure both paths have as close to the same "power level" as is possible.
ARCANE,
As of late the Arcane Team has been busy at work improving the system with new lore and more opportunities for mages to customize their story. Our most recent introduction is the improvement of Faustian Bargains within the magic system by way of the Arcane Patrons! You can find more information about them here: (Link). The Animancy Rework is still underway, though we're seeing some improvements and hope to share more with the community soon.
We've also seen some members join and leave the team! Please welcome Moosh and Dee, who are putting the work in to ensure an enjoyable time on the server. We'd also like to thank Joe for his time as Arcane Team, as he has decided to retire.
LORE,
Lore has been hard at work in a wide variety of areas - including Modernization efforts that specifically focus on the races currently; including a rework of Makani and Constructs.
The Lore team continues to help players explore different paths through tickets - bring insight to new and exciting secrets to unlock, and more.
The team continues to work with Divine and Arcane on balancing, and also is focusing on HollowCrafting and it’s updates coming to you soon.
SERVER OUTREACH,
SO is working diligently in a lot of new and exciting ways. We’ve welcomed in a whole new team to provide some fresh faces. Some current projects include: - Continuation of updates to the forums.
- A more streamlined suggestion system.
- A revamp to the Government of Storms Landing.
- The rebuild of the Grand Cathedral.
- Ways to enhance the New Player Experience.
- A heck of a lot of dailies.

GENERAL;
HW continues to grow and expand through time. In the past few months we’ve welcome several new staff members, said goodbye to a few, and welcomed in a brand new Moderation department to help deal with any conflicts that arise on the server. We’re continuously looking towards the future and welcoming in new and old players into the fold.

[ x ] It seems there are still some animals loose in the Landing. Their Dwarven owner still seeking out the help of adventurers.
[ x ] The fighting within Jack's tavern has yet to stop, was the latest iteration of the mage law even heard by those in the Landing?
[ x ] With the sickness spreading through the Landing, it seems a few have attempted to find a cure and stop the symptoms.
[ CHALLENGES ]
