Metagaming: Using outside reference of your own character to use them as a guide.
Powergaming: A character doing an act they are unable of doing in a realistic manner.

7. Tell us about yourself! Do you have any examples of your work?
(Introduce yourself! Tell us some of your hobbies, what kind of music you like, other games you play, maybe any pets you have. We're not asking for anything too personal, but we would like to get to know you a bit better to help the application and transition. Some hobbies of mine are aquascaping, playing D&D, and sketching. I have 12 animals in total and I take care of most of them. I do digital art frequently on my drawing tablet, and I also enjoy playing League of Legends. I have played quite a few horror games and enjoyed them, and I like horror movies as well. I'm a fan of the Japanese manga Berserk and JoJo's Bizarre Adventures.

Current Setting of the Server:
The lands of Altera have long been laced with upheaval, supernatural turmoil that would threaten to shatter the realm or tear it asunder. Long, have the peoples of Altera withstood these tribulations, overcoming and persevering through the generations. Only too recently, have they settled the ire of Titans and Gods. Though the days were dark and long, the realm did survive, through tenacity and reverence. The memories of their trials behind them still fresh, the realm sits in a state of unease and angst . . . with eyes on the horizon.
In the skies above, the stars flicker and burn across the auburn colors of the setting sun, streaks of color in the gathering dark. The Realm of Altera awaits . . .

Lupine is a 5'5 fair-haired Northern woman with blueish-grey eyes. She weights about 132 lbs and wears an outfit with a linen shirt and linen travel cloak with cheap leather cuffs and a cheap leather belt with boots. Travel clothing.

Lupine is an Anhalder, coming from a family of three. She had left home a year ago, leaving behind her mother and father in their small cottage hidden in the woods. She recalls the first day of her adventure.
"Ma, Pa, I wanna go on an adventure, I wanna explore!" she said estastically to her parents that morning. Ma and Pa both gave eachother a sideways look, and finally spoke after a moment of silence.
Pa had furrowed his brows "Why? It's perfect here. Peaceful, quiet, no danger." he said in a gentle yet firm voice.
"I wanna see the outside world. I don't wanna be stuck in a small cabin my entire life." She huffed, standing up a bit taller.
Lupine wanted to leave the small and peaceful place called home for excitement and exploration, finally old enough to do something other than doing chores around the house and helping her Ma and Pa. Her father looked at her, with a reluctant look on his face. Then, her mother steps in.
"If you really want to, go ahead. But you can always return whenever, we'll always be here." she said with a smile on her face, but with a saddened tone.
"Thank you so much!" She exclaimined, hugging her mother. Lupine had quickly set up things for her journey, as she wanted to leave this afternoon. She had hugged her parents at the door that afternoon and waved goodbye, walking down the small stone path. Then, she began her journey.
"Finally!" She breathed, her first night out alone in the forest. It was quiet, and the crackling of the fire she created is the only audible sound around her. It glowered at her, illuminating the surrounding area. She laid down on the cool grass, breathing in the fresh smell of the wild. She closed her eyes, trying to rest from the thrilling first part of her journey.
Lupine wakes up, the fire burned out and was a small pile of ashes. The sound of birds chirping in the early dawn sounded like peace to Lupine's ears, as she stretched out her arms which were covered in dirt. She brushed away the dirt on her arms, back, and hair, and stood up. She picked up the small hand-woven sack that her mother made for her, and noticed an animal staring at her. It was a deer, with large beautiful antlers. She did a small gasp, as she's never seen one up close before. As soon as she took a step towards it though, it bolted. "Wait!" she yelped, scrambling after the buck. It moved quickly, weaving between the trees, and Lupine was falling behind. She was breathing heavily, not used to running this quickly. Her foot caught on a tree root and was sent flying across the forest floor. "Ow." she said, her eyes filled with tears since she face-planted into the ground. It wasn't the best way to start off the second day of her journey, but it was eventful.
Lupine breathes out, smiling as she recalled the memory. "I'm so happy to be home." she said to herself, after being gone for a year. She walked up to her home, and knocked on the door.

About Your Character!
This section is about the character you intend to use once you join the server.We ask that new players follow these guidelines during this portion of the application:
- Characters begin with basic skills and gear. No advanced armor or weaponry. Skills and abilities are appropriate to a novice level. Skills should be learned through roleplay, not through backstory.
- Characters fit the lore. If you choose to play as a Moor Elf, for example, we expect appearance and details to be fitting with base lore.
- Characters cannot use magic in any way. The test itself should not mention magic either. HollowWorld uses a restricted magic system and it is only accessible to those who find and learn from a teacher in-game.
- Tests should not be violent. No murder, killing, death, torture. In the past, 8 out of 10 applications featured characters fighting off bandits or slaying passersby. We don't want to see how well you can script a fight scene. We want to see how well you can tell a story, how well you can roleplay.
- Be creative and be original. Do not use tests/characters whose home villages were burned, parents murdered, and then set off to be an orphan assassin. It has been done before. Please don't do it again.
- Written portion of the test is required to be a 400 word minimum. If the test doesn't meet the minimum, Staff may ask you to extend the test before the application is considered.
