Playing characters that are not your own?

I was thinking of playing a bit character, for one day, for one special RP thing. I know some people have been playing multiple characters, and one person asked if he could have two characters, but I just wanted to check and be sure if I could do this.

It could get very confusing for people who are expecting you to roleplay X type or person if you suddenly start playing anther type. All I'd say is that if you wanted to do this you lose any moaning rights if people refer to you as a bandit when you've decided to RP a mermaid for the day

I stick to one type as it's simple for people to keep track, I always think those who use too many characters make life far too complicated

it's pertaining to my quest. I don't intend to keep the character.
