A response from a particular butt to a particularly new thread~

---------------------------------------

Does she know, he thinks to himself. He stretches his back out of discomfort, he wipes his coat down. The carriage driver was not as nice as the last one, he had an air that can only be described as southern discontent. The kind that spits at long beards and urinates in snow. Alistair can't imagine why someone would hate a land of prosperity, but he despises the south as much as he must the north. Like two dead bodies holding up one another with each others hatred. They dare not fall, otherwise something as horrific as peace might ensue. That would not be profitable for anyone but the old. The driver makes sure to hit the rocks that cause the passengers discomfort, to travel under trees after it has rained for some extra rainfall. Seeing as Alistair is the only passenger, he makes it his mission. He will remember this driver for later, either to teach him a lesson, or to pay him to be less discontent.

Does she know. The weather gets debatable as it starts snowing Alistair not minding it much as it softly begins to fall. It dances in his hair, it provides a softer, crunchier underbrush than the cobblestone for the carriage. The heavier it gets, the more the driver grumbles. The bottle under his seat must provide some comfort, otherwise why have it. The driver can't complain too much though; where we are going does not see itself as northern or southern. Or it does, and Alistair merely assumes. Not many assumptions nowadays, everyone trying to prove themselves makes things hard fact. As usual Alistair's thoughts get lost though in the trivial, and he doesn't notice he's arrived until the driver comes to a hard stop.

She must know. She is the only reason he returns, the only reason he cares at all, the only reason he stops to see a sunset just to make sure to tell her about it in case she misses it. The moon he sees is the moon she sees, but it belongs to her more than to him. He wants to give her the world, and she wants it as much as he does. He can only hope she would only want it if it meant it was theirs. A memento to remember her by is a memory. It is more than enough. All this, she must know. He tries to make it clearer to her every time he sees her, for it becomes stronger every time. Does she think of him often he wonders. He can hope. She's the only reason he does. A broken man pieced together by love and affection is one thing, a whole man breaking parts of his soul off to give to another, is another. He needs not to refresh the memory of her, just to create more. The point of being kindred however is that you trust the others feelings on the matter. Meaning-

She does know. This is what they share, he wonders, as he descends the steps of the snowy escape.
