[Some Quest Style RP ] - Illden's Childhood

< Read Sangrian propaganda and realize at an early age that Cymic is truly the highest king in all of Altera, and join the work force as an orphan assasin.

< Make sure he isn't trailing you momentarily and wander around the forest.
You check momentarily to see if your older brother is following you. The intruder doesn't seem to be there, so you venture off into the forest. You can tell right away this is somewhere in the southeast seeing how lush it is despite the oppressing heat. You are preoccupied by thoughts of your hold home, which you could barely remember for the last year or two for just being a five year old when you come across an old rotten log. Surely this husk of a tree must be teeming with all manner of insects.

You feel tempted to harvest some bugs for later.

<Harvest some insects for later use
<Keep going further into the forest
<Look around the immediate area

<Search around the forest, look around>
You decide to resist the urge to push the log aside and harvest the worms and grubs there. In an attempt to console the indignant log you shoosh it, giving a promise to return and a few solid pats on a branch long since rotten through.

*SNAP*

You pocket the rotten branch and keep it on your person. Aside from that you see nothing special in the area. A quick once over reveals some footprints on the ground in a clearing along with a basket full of what look to be some very lively fish next to a tree, which has a few pieces of torn cloth hanging from one of its branches. There is absolutely nothing to suggest something interesting has taken place here.

<Take a closer look at the basket
<Take a closer look at the torn cloth
<Move past the tree and out of the clearing to further investigate anyway!

<Take a closer look at the torn cloth>
(Sorry it took so long, I've been working on something for the thread :) )

Illden goes to take a closer look at the torn cloth on the branches of the tree. Expensively dyed rags of cheap material sway at the disturbance caused by her swinging arm. It seems they were torn as someone made their exit. You can't tell how long ago that happened, and you don't really care to find out.

One of the fish that is still struggling in the basket finally flops out onto the dirty forest path right next to your path.

Wow, you think, the person who caught all these fish must have done so in really short time! It would be a shame if anything happened to the fish. You continue your musing about the strange scene about you before you hear rustling from the direction you came in. Just as you prepare to keep running you hear someone else in the distance past the tree. You wonder which way leads to your older brother, and you quickly decide...

<To go past the tree
<To go investigate the rustling sounds
<To continue down the path and hope no one sees you out in the open(highly unlikely)
<Do something else...

<Do something else, call out verbally and shout to scare away any unwanted person's.
You decide to call out to whoever is out there, hollering some nonsense about, "HAVE YOU ANY FOOD FOR A BABE!!!???", being somewhat famished by this point, and the rustling stops, but the voice from beyond the tree responds to you! You can hear a young damsel in distress past the tree and it compels you to follow. You only take a few strides away from the forest path when you come across a strange sight.

It seems the forest wasn't too thick around the path.

You are now on the eastern boundary of the forest. A look about the area provides some pleasant scenery. There are mountains in the distance to your left, more forest behind and to your right, and a river straight ahead. You observe the water to be quite choppy, a few rocks poking out above the water. On one of these rocks there seems to be a dark haired Caparii woman in brightly colored clothes calling out for help. What were once scattered cries are now directed in your general direction at your earlier call, now increasing in frequency at your approach.

The woman's incoherent entreaties grow tepid upon seeing that you are a five year old girl, even more one she hasn't seen before, unaccompanied by adults. You then decide to..

<Approach the woman
<Get a better look at her predicament before approaching
<See what you have on your person that may be of use in this situation

<Get a better look at her predicament before approaching.>
You decide to get a better look at what her predicament is exactly. You can see the choppy water all the way from here, and the river is a few minutes away so you know it's very dangerous to go into it.

You don't need to be older to see that she is stuck, and it looks like she was running away from something as well based on the tattered quality of her clothing, which also happens to match the rags on the branches of that tree. Now she is waving at you to go, likely to get help from your parents. You are slightly offended she would assume you live with your parents, surely a five year old such as you is perfectly capable of caring for herself without the meddling of her older brother, who just so happens to be hidden in the foliage at the edge of the forest behind you.

<Illden, turn around.
<Approach the lady so you can actually hear her
<Take a nice nap at the edge of the forest
<Search your person for anything of use

>Illden, turn around>
You turn around all of a sudden, and the Caparii woman can be heard breathing a sigh of relief, you don't know for what.

You don't see anyone there, but you could have sworn you saw something moving just out of sight. You feel compelled to take a look at what it could be.

<Approach the place where you saw it
<Try to help out the Caparii lady
<Realize this is probably your brother and book it

<Nobly reveal yourself to your brother to get help for the woman
You decide you're a little tired of him always pestering you. You run over to where you saw it and find no one.

There /is/ some rope on the ground however, and you eagerly reclaim it for yourself. You wonder how your rope got here, but you are too glad to reunite with it after that scuffle with your older brother separated you two. You now feel the urge to try and use it to help the Caparii and be on your way. Do you...

<Go back and try to assist her with the rope

(I'll auto respond after a while)

You decide to go back and help out the Caparii lady with your rope. You find her predicament a little funny, sans the tattered clothing, so you snicker as you approach her. "Hahahaha..hahaha.." *You take a few minutes to reach the woman, and she is slightly disconcerted that you are the one helping her out. She questions where your parents are, and you jokingly answer that they are the people that chased her into her current predicament.

This is enough to shut her up and, as you place the noose over a sturdy branch on a log, you throw the other end over to her. You are proud of your display of toddler strength.

This woman seems to have endless reservations about your assistance, and you are tempted to abandon her to trust that your nooses are the very best and grab onto the other end, assuring her that they are strong enough to hold even the greediest pilfering public official grown fat on the money of taxpayers.

You tell her, once more, that the noose will tighten on the branch and catch her.

She decides it's better than waiting to grow tired of hanging onto the rock and carefully slips into the water with the rope in her hands. It is a success, and the rope tightens around the branch. She begins to tug her way back to the riverbank with the help of the rope.

<Chase after the now struggling Caparii woman

(Finally back)

You chase after the end of the rope now dragging along the riverbank towards the forest in the east of your field of view and soon decide to use the sharpest wooden assembly piece, a tip, to drive through the rope at the tightened noose and separate it. The Caparii lady is now floating downstream but at least you have some rope that you can tie to something if you run quick enough..

Now that you think about it, this current is awful slow to be carrying someone away. You could have sworn it looked more rapid back at the rock. You have enough time if you run ahead to tie it about the base of a tree ahead of you..

<Run ahead and tie it to the base of the tree
<Realize you are both approaching a body of water and consider if it would be safer to try and secure her then
