The Path of Choice is the personal philosophy of the Lord of Nowhere, a set of tenets influenced by many sources of how a life ought to be lived. At its core is the belief that the basic state of being is freedom, and freedom is the highest ideal one should seek in all aspects of life.
No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path. - Buddha
The seven tenets are as follows:
The Path of Choice has four sins:
It is understood that some will disparage the Path, and others will seek to destroy it. To this, the Path allows defense of the self, and encourages introducing the Path to individuals within the collective opposing the Path.
The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. -Ezekiel 25:17
No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path. - Buddha
The seven tenets are as follows:
- The basic state of life is freedom. There are no inherent limits to what one individual, given freedom, might accomplish. Freedom is the highest virtue.
- The basic state of nature is disorder. Each moment differs from the last, and in each moment new choices can be made to influence future moments.
- Total freedom best exists in a disordered system, where all choices are available.
- Existing repressive power structures must be dissolved to open the possibility of freedom, where none are repressed or forced into specific roles. Slavery is a high offence and must be opposed at every turn.
- The freedom of others in the Path must not be infringed. No crime may be inflicted by those of the Path upon those of the Path, and matters of business must be fair for both sides.
- Those not walking the Path are not free, and should be introduced to the Path so they may consider its philosophy.
- Walking the Path must be done willingly, without coercion, or it is without value. To choose to walk the Path is to make the First Choice, and that Choice is the choice to be free.
The Path of Choice has four sins:
- Committing crime against members of the Path of Choice, for this violates their own freedoms.
- Slavery of any kind, for it removes all freedom from the enslaved, and is a highest sin.
- Murder, for it entirely ends the path of the victim.
- Forcing order. If one chooses not to follow a particular philosophy, they must not be punished for it.
- Giving others the ability to make decisions freely.
- Doing as wished, so long as it infringes not on others' freedom.
- Seeking to increase disorder without violence or harm, in order to allow greater freedom.
