Come from far come from near, and hear it all!
For honor and glory, ride forth.
Ride forth and claim your prize, claim your name!
When the lance meets steel only one shall stand victorious!
Come forth, and join the joust!
For honor and glory!
Word would travel across the towns in Altera by posters and heralds of a joust being organized in the Landing.
Not only for the high-born or knighted, but everyone who seeks to earn their fair share of glory and honor.
With equipment provided and horses ready, how can one not partake to claim their name?

[Heralding]
Upon the first time a combatant is called upon, a Herald will introduce them with a short speech.
This can be as quirky, funny or serious as much as you want.
Shouldn't be longer than 3 sentences but, I can make exception if I find them really good.
[Lady's Favour]
When a combatant is called up first, they shall ride along the stands first, calling out to the crowd, asking anyone for a token of their favour.
The token has to be some kind of cloth, a scarf a tissue, that when offered, will be tied onto the lance of the combatant.
