Poster A New Threat

Horns blast throughout the night, guards stirring throughout the Kingdom.

By the break of dawn, heralds call, posters are placed, and walls are mounted.










A new threat is upon us. Until further notice, avoid travel within the
interior of the Kingdom.

Those within cities, remain in the walls; those in towns, avoid venturing
into the wilds. Any merchants should travel with heavy guard, and those
of Eisenheim should travel by sea where possible, avoid the road at all
costs.

The guard shall make efforts to secure our lands, and you will be told more
as we learn of it.

We stand defiant once more.

A few days after the guard notice, a herald reads a royal missive,
before it is posted throughout the Kingdom of Aethel Deira.

My loyal citizens, friends, and people of the realm,

As many of you know, demons from a world unlike our own
have torn their way into our lands, seeking to destroy all that
which lay in their path.

I know you all have suffered much, and continue to fight to
preserve the peace we have built together, and now I must ask
of you again, to take up sword and hammer, bandage and loom.

It is true that in the days ahead, food may be sparse, and tension
in the air. It is cause for breaking bread with your neighbour, to
remind each other of fellowship, of duty, and of community.

There is no threat which our people have not overcome, there is no
hurdle which we have not faced with a resolve of steel, and no foe
to which we have surrendered our livelihood to.

So, as we are challenged again, we will stand again, unwilling and
unable to break.

We fight for our families, our communities, and for each other. I call
on you now, when this realm needs you most, for this should be our
finest moment, a bulwark worthy of the legacy we have inherited.

Be strong, be wise, be vigilant. We will prevail, as we have before.
