But instead death and paranoia.
Yet in bittersweet deal his soul was numbed,
And oxymoronically enough,
By selling it -- he discovered it.
He saw others whine - and buy into the narrative of corruption of the fiends,
Shattering themselves into pieces through the exorcisms
And hating on the fiends indiscriminately.
He knew - Gods were no better,
And thus he continued, despite betrayals
Despite the persecution that he faced
Holding dear to the new Identity,
And not regretting it in the end.
