The Plants of The Marsh

These unique plants infest the festering swamplands of Nid Arach. Find the creatures that roam there too [HERE].
I might use this thread to refer to any unique plantlife you may encounter during my DM's for a quick overview of what you're dealing with.

The Arachian Gap Bridger Plant
A tool of horizontal traversal
1640263533837.png
A rapidly growing plant. In its first life stage, once seeded, it will instantly grow across a gap and attach itself to the other side, or grow 10 meter (blocks) far if it doesn't reach the other side. After that, it will spend its life photosynthesizing and barely growing any further. It blooms only during blood moons and therefore seeds are quite rare to come by. Gap Bridger Seeds are a valuable tool when wanting to cross impassable spaces. The gap bridger plant can only grow on Arachian soil and can't grow further than 10 meter (blocks) in length horizontally. It cannot grow vertically.

The Arachian Ladder Plant
A tool of vertical traversal
1640263929237.png
A rapidly growing plant. In its first life stage, once seeded, it will instantly grow upwards until it reaches 10 meter (blocks) or until it finds something to attach itself to. After that, it will spend its life photosynthesizing and barely growing any further. It blooms only during blood moons and therefore seeds are quite rare to come by. Ladder Plant Seeds are valuable when crossing impassable vertical terrain. The ladder plant can only grow on Arachian soil and can't grow further than 10 meter (blocks) in length vertically. It can not grow horizontally.

The Arachian Snare
Certain death for the unprepared
1640264017255.png
A creeping vine with savage thorns that grows mostly horizontally. It grows rather slowly. When touched, it sends a signal throughout the entire plant's system, which can spread for several meters (10 blocks) per plant. Much like a spider and its cobweb, the plant will then attempt to ensnare the cause of the movement. It blooms only during blood moons and therefore seeds are quite rare to come by. When ensnared by this plant, your prospects are bleak; you will suffer a slow suffocating death unless the plant is exposed to flames, which will cause it to retreat rapidly. When cut, two more vines will take the place of the first. Snare Plant Seeds are valuable tools to set traps with! The snare plant can only grow on Arachian soil and can't grow more than 5 blocks away from its planted source. (10 blocks diameter max).

The Arachian Dirt Breaker
More commonly known as tree of the damned, or; loot tree
1640264175218.png
A slow-growing tree. This tree has giant roots and digs down as well as up, causing buried items, treasure, and skeletons to rise to the surface in time. The fact that skeletons rise to the surface around this tree has caused this tree to be the center of many a myth about undead and damned souls. The roots can span an area of 3 meter (blocks) around the short and wide tree. These trees are said to bring both wealth and ruin to its owner, due to its uprooting qualities of both treasure and the dead. Dirt Breaker tree seeds are valuable for rituals involving graves, as well as for people who enjoy the sight of the tree. They're also useful for finding buried treasures. The tree can only grow on Arachian soil and cannot grow wider than 9 meter (blocks) in diameter. Its roots cannot dig further nor deeper than 3 meter (blocks).

Giant Mushroom
A trip to another level
1647284774196.png
These giant mushrooms are colored red and brown and grow numerously in the swamps of Nid Arach. They form a natural habitat for lightning-pincer-beetles and also make handy platforms from which one could jump to otherwise unreachable places. They generally can grow about 10 meter (blocks) tall and have been found in other locations besides Nid Arach, like the Sorrows.

Thorny Wall
A natural barrier against wingless creatures
1647285063498.png
These brambles grow into a tangle of thorns and serve as an excellent natural barrier to shield a space from prying eyes or dangerous creatures. The thorny wall can be planted anywhere in Altera, since they're just a variety of brambles, though the conditions of the climate determine how well it will grow (up to region owners/DMs to decide). They can grow a length of 10 meter (blocks) per individual plant.
