Has been a Mojang problem for a while now.
Click on the "join server" button instead if double clicking the server in your list usually helps.

Persistence is key! Everyone is unfortunately getting the error, as bode says, it's a problem with mojang, and minecraft servers everywhere, others have been successful at joining when using the "Direct connect" button

You have to go onto direct connect, enter the server IP, and spam it about 20-50 times
