Physiology

Additional physical information.
Build:
Fynandrid has an ectomorphic body. Despite his ancestry with the Forest Elves and his family's trade and lifestyle in the desert, he did not inherit the comparatively robust shoulders and legs commonly associated with them. However, this is not to say that Fynandrid is feeble. Instead, there is only a slight tone to his muscle mass with his body having been conditioned for travel and labor more than it is for combat.

Hair:
The color of Fynandrid's hair is brown and often styled to be an undercut with either a braid or a tail hanging at his back or one of his shoulders.

Eyes:
The color of Fynandrid's eyes is grey with a slightly lighter pupil, often gleaming with interest and curiosity.

Skin:
Unlike the Forest, Silver, and Moor Elves, Fynandrid's skin is dark like most Aorians and Soolerans that reside in the southern regions.

Identifying Marks:
N/A

Appearance:
Fynandrid has an inverted triangular-shaped face and a pointed nose, with a rounded brow and pointed elven ears. His limbs and his face, especially when he is not wearing any shawl or sleeved tunic, are often slightly darker than the rest of his body from exposure to the sun. Expectedly lean, Fynandrid fully and confidently stands up to his height and rarely slouched.

Clothing:
Though appreciative of the more elaborate attires of the other humans and elves in the south, he has a limited number of clothes that adhered to the weather and his profession as a fisherman and a sea salt farmer. He commonly wears a sleeveless tunic and a simple pair of trousers on warmer days, at times wearing a shawl over his arms, and a sleeved tunic whenever the weather gets cold, such as at night. In the desert or along the coastline, he would rarely wear his shoes and only did so whenever he expects to travel at a longer distance.

Hygiene:
Often perturbed by the desert heat, especially after work and during the Season of Harvest, it was common for Fynandrid to regularly bathe and attend to his hygienic needs. Out of habit, he continued the practice even when he had reached greener fields.

Diet:
Having lived along the coastline of the southern region, Fynandrid's diet once had mainly consisted of the local Aorian meals. Ever since he left his village, Fynandrid had been exposed to a more hearty diet that commonly consists of meat, oats, crops, and fruits found in the Valley and its neighboring areas, though he would occasionally visit the coastline to fish for seafood in reminiscence of his home and previous occupation.

Voice:
Fynandrid has a well-modulated voice, often pronouncing or enunciating words with a relaxed Aorian accent whenever he speaks in either of his native languages. His voice would only become monotonous whenever he reads due to his limited literacy and had little practice reading with any creative notions, having only been taught how to read for its convenience in trade.

Qualities and Flaws
The state of the mind and body.
Strengths:
Agile to a degree, Fynandrid often avoids danger whenever he could, especially with the creatures he fears. He is a learned fisherman, a novice trader, and a humble sea salt farmer. The tutelage from his father and his mother were able to provide allowed him a window into the world of literature and basic mathematics. Though he is not born a hunter, he was encouraged to learn how best to travel and forage for his needs.

Fears:
Like every other mortal regardless of their life span, Fynandrid fears death, especially one without accomplishment in service to his family, his home, or Shalherana. He is also afraid of scorpions and snakes, often scurrying away from the venomous creatures with distaste and avoiding them as best he could. With his recent exposure to the undead and word of the southern capital being besieged, he has come to fear the loss of his village and the threat that the undead poses.

Weaknesses:
Without experience in fighting, the spear in his hands is often held with an awkward grip and uncertainty. Though he is aware of how it feels to lunge or thrust the blade of a weapon, he has yet to experience the difference between the weapon's impact against any other creature besides an animal's. His limited literary skills often provide challenging whenever he needs to present the contents of a letter in a dignified and interesting manner, or if Fynandrid is unaware of how a word is spelled or not a part of his vocabulary.

Intelligence:
Besides a limited literary level, Fynandrid is often keen to learn more about nearly anything that would be most helpful to him, to his family, and his community. He has a general awareness of his ancestor's history and what had happened in the past through tales and legends, finding interest in not only history but also the history of the gods, specifically Shalherana. He believes that retracing the steps to the virtues and practices of his ancestors and Shalherana would prove the most useful for an enlightened, communal lifestyle, which may then in turn allow him to see his purpose clearly on what to do for himself and others. With some of his questions answered, Fynandrid is ever eager to continue his personal quest in understanding the world around him.

Languages:
Born in the southern regions, Fynandrid is fluent in Aori and the Common tongue. With the irrelevance of Elvish in the village, the language was lost to his family in favor of Aori, with the closest and only known Elvish words (though their meaning lost to them) coming only from tales of their ancestors and words that somewhat resemble their names.

Profession:
Fynandrid is a fisherman and a sea salt farmer by trade, though he is currently working in the Verdant Valley as a miner, though at times assists in the gathering of local herbs, and is currently considering either a scholarly pursuit in Candlewood or a martial career, temporary or otherwise, to aid in the recapture of Linistel.

Ethics and Motivations

The state of the soul.
Personality:
Fynandrid is often a calm and sociable soul, approaching others whenever most appropriate. He is opposed to needless or vain celebrations and finds comfort in productive pursuits. It is here that one can debate whether he is a shy or gregarious elf. Like most elves, he is often patient and tolerant of the diverse cultures and people of the south.

Religion or Cults:

The Pantheon

[ I. ] Shalherana, the Allmother. (▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▱ 90%)
Fynandrid is a worshipper of the Allmother. Appreciative of his Elvish roots, he is highly fond of her creations, especially the green fields and vivid trees and flowers beyond the arid desert. He has a general understanding of Her tenets and adheres to them as best he could. Unlike some of her followers, he finds little to no issue in the Allmother taking up the mantle of Vengeance. However, he is opposed to the Sisterhood's interference with death, believing that any who had fallen must be allowed to rest in Her realm. Regardless, he would most likely be friendly to any followers of the Allmother, though cautious of those who would cause conflict in Her name, especially within lawful lands.

[ II. ] Jishrim, the Mad One. (▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱ 0%)
Fynandrid finds no fondness in the worship of Jishrim and would most likely be cautious or hostile to His followers.

[ III. ] Korog, the Allfather. (▰▰▰▱▱▱▱▱▱ 35%)
Fynandrid recognizes the Allfather, though has yet to appreciate His virtues. He would most likely be friendly to His followers and admire them if they are capable craftsmen.

[ IV. ] Sallana, the Lover. (▰▰▰▰▰▱▱▱▱▱ 50%)
Fynandrid recognizes the Lover and appreciates most of Her virtues. However, he is opposed to the singular worship of Sallana and does not wholly dedicate his morality to Her tenets. He would most likely be friendly to Her followers, though would question their faith if they wholly adhere to her tenet of singular worship.

[ V. ] The Grey Lady, the Warden. (▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▱▱ 85%)
Fynandrid worships the Grey Lady nearly equal to the Allmother. A believer of judgment and the afterlife, Fynandrid finds comfort in Her tenets whenever faced with the idea of existence. He has a general understanding of Her tenets and also adheres to them as best he could. Though he respects the Warden, he is also fearful of her. Regardless, Fynandrid would most likely be friendly to any of Her followers and respects those who attend to the dead and prevent them from rising once again.

[ VI. ] Jax, the Opportunist. (▰▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱ 15%)
Though Fynandrid recognizes Jax, he finds little fondness in most of his tenets and often tries to understand it through a lens that does not involve great harm. He would most likely be cautious of His followers.

[ VII. ] Theodra, the Huntress. (▰▰▰▰▰▰▰▱▱▱ 70%)
While Fynandrid is not a hunter, he admires the tenets of Theodra and has become interested in learning more about her. He has a general understanding of Her tenets and adheres to them as best he could, seeing them as a means to improve his physical health and his courage. He would most likely be friendly to any of Her followers and admire them.

[ VIII. ] Skraag, the Soul Stealer. (▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱ 0%)
Fynandrid finds no fondness in the worship of Jishrim and would most likely be cautious or hostile to His followers.

[ IX. ] Ignis Synnove, the Phoenix. (▰▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱ 15%)
Fynandrid recognizes the Phoenix, though he is not fond of most of Her tenets, believing them to be more militant and aggressive than most of the Divine aligned to the protection of the realm. However, he admires the order She represents, being opposed to crime. He would most likely be cautious of His followers out of sheer intimidation.

[ X. ] Visage, the Watcher. (▰▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱▱ 15%)
Yet another Divine Fynandrid recognizes, he is often conflicted about the Watcher's tenets. Though fond of knowledge, Fynandrid has a distaste for Him and deception that leads to greater harm. He would most likely be cautious of His followers.

[ XI. ] Valiant, the Crusader. (▰▰▰▰▰▱▱▱▱▱ 50%)
Fynandrid recognizes the Crusader and admires His tenets. Though he has a general understanding of them and adheres to it as best he could, he does not exactly worship or has had plans to worship Valiant, only to respect Him and His followers.

Backstory:
Fynandrid Vorveam Ithraides was born to Ansandraia and Rodryg Ithraides. His family, who were descendants of Forest Elves that had been displaced after the Mass Exodus, lived in a village near the southwestern coast of the arid region. Despite the fate of their ancestors ending up so far away from the lush green fields of the world, their faith in Shalherana and some of their virtues were preserved by Fynandrid's family. However, this did not include the language of their ancestors.

At a young age, Fynandrid would often accompany his father whenever he leaves the village to trade their fish and their salt with nearby settlements. Through his father, he was able to learn how best to prepare for a journey in the desert, how to count, and how to be wary of swindlers. Besides trade and travel, his father and his mother alike taught him the virtue of communal life, engaging him in what then became his profession: a fisherman and a sea salt farmer.

Fynandrid, like the rest of his family and his ancestors, assimilated into the local culture of the Aorian, a people of varied races that shared the southern world with the Soolera and the Southern Sangrians. He spoke fluent Aori and the Common tongue, though often preferred to speak with the latter to accommodate travelers that stop by their humble village to trade. Both his parents, his father especially, were literate enough to teach Fynandrid how to read words written in the Aori and the Common tongue. However, he is often challenged by spelling and vocabulary, especially in the Aori tongue.

Having lived a humble yet idle life, Fynandrid was eager to learn more about the Allmother and his ancestry to the Forest Elves and aspired to better himself in his family's name to aid them in their endeavours. How will the young, eager elf choose his path? What else will he find beyond the comfort of his village? Only time will tell...
