Native to the northwestern Talon Islands, one of the small landmasses off the coast of Blackstone, Griff is every inch an Islander.
Born amongst the lowborn commoners and with bastard blood coursing through his veins, the simple surname of Talon was adopted following the cultural naming traditions.
His mother was responsible for weaving fishnets, of which the livelihood of the small hamlet was made.
Lacking the presence of his father, Griff was raised into the fishermen practice by the locals.
Life was simple, and he was content with each passing day. His childhood was modest and poor of wealth, but he was raised with affection and loyalty to his community.
While the world outside was largely unknown to him, proper education lost to those of nobility and riches, many valuable lessons were learned about life and manhood.
Providing for his mother and the less fortunate among them, Griff discovered the individual he wished to be.
The legends of Hawklight knights inspired him with courage and valour, piquing an interest in one day studying military tactics and weaponry.
With both his mind and heart united, Griff operates with an inner sense of duty and commitment to the realm.
The needs of others are often before his own, always considering their wellbeing.
