BACKSTORY: Josiah grew up with Thorkell in their father's house. Unbeknownst to him, their father had sent their triplet sister away to an orphanage due to his desire for sons. Both brothers developed their talents in crafting, but while Thorkell devoted himself to smithing, Josiah was more eclectic and learned to cut jewels and tinker. When Thorkell discovered their sister, Faith, Josiah was so overcome with emotion that he set fire to their father's house. No one was harmed, but the impulsive act caused him to bond with a fire spirit, which only intensified his erratic behavior. Josiah eventually went to live nearer to his sister, in her domain.
