Backstory: Loves forefathers, like most people, came under king Cherberts protection escaping their dying world. Her grandmums was name Temperance, she came to Altera with her daughter, Patience. Temperance lived a full life and passed peacefully in her sleep with sound mind that she had raised her daughter to adulthood in a realm free of the Grief.
Patience as an adult lived on a small series of islands just outside of Port Silver. She was renound interior decorator, and many people sought her skill. One day, by chance she assisted King Cherbert himself in the aprehension of some Black Magic usera! For this she was rewarded a minor title, and a rare sponge. Lady Patience met Loves father while she was remodeling his home in a nearby town, a whirlwind romance, they were married a few short weeks later. And a few more short weeks they realised Patience was pregnant, a blessing of Sallanna! Halfway through her term Lady Patiences husband was killed in a nether defense training course, so distraught from his loss she moved, even heavy with child, to a small village not even on the map called The Tiny Squid. It was there Lady Love was born, her namesake that all emcompasing gift. Lady Patience met the Gods when Lady Love was 16, being of age she was sent to court to receive a proper education.
Lady Love quickly became a companion of the late King Ravenfrostt, they often went hiking together as they shared a mutal joy of the land and appreciation for grand scenery. Despite rumours, they were truely just close friends, as she was too innocent and he too honorable.And so she grew up rather unremarkably in Port Silver. She left court after the death of her closest friend.
Lady Love found a quiet spot next to a river in a new part of the world, where she opened an inn. She worked the ground herself, having a green thumb was able to make mushrooms dance and grow, and so developed the best mushroom stew in all Altera. It was during this period that Lady Love and some of the people who lived in the village around her inn found some old books deep in the Silver Palaces library, torn bits of paper scattered amongst and stuck out of other tomes in the reference section. Books too valuable to be moved from the library, collected and gathering dust in the dim light, they found the first references to The Mushroom God.
Lady Love and those few people believed what they had found as truth, and we as Loyal Alterans were ingoring one of our Gods! And the word had to be spread. But the work they were doing was not the most prominent thing in peoples minds, the world was being attacked by Grief, and the kings were telling everyone we would have to search out a new home, a new Altera. Lady Love preached for the Mushroom God even amongst the chaos of that dying world, as she was always deeply religous, her mother telling her she was a blessing from Sallanna. We should not be ignoring one of our Gods, but time will pass and the world will shift and change as molten iron, and everyone coming out of the storm together under our Kings guiding hands, had made it to a new world, our new Altera.
As the appointed explorers and surveyers mapped our new land, King Lars came to Lady Love with a most strange tale. An island, with strange red beasts growing fungus from their backs, mushrooms taller than any man, or elf. And no evil beasts even in the dark of a black moon! As he had heard one of her sermons speaking of a Mushroom God, he thought she should see the place for herself...
