Small game proliferates in the north, just south of the tundra. They devour the herbs that healers gather, and get into gardens. Predators look fat and happy, and more young than normal are surviving through the winter. Spring will bring more dangerous adolescents unless some populations are culled now. The erstwhile leader of the Rangers has sought any hunter who is willing to help keep the balance of predator and prey in the wilds.
