Crazy for Corvermell: Culture and Controversy
Following new legislation in Sincronia, the new 'Things We Stole From Other Countries' exhibition at the National Museum of Antiquities is a hit.
Following new legislation in Sincronia, nude art is becoming wildly popular.
Good evening, and welcome to SNN! I'm Rupert Nuz, your host for tonight's breaking news!
Earlier this week, the National Museum of Antiquities opened a brand new exhibit showcasing a plethora of Vermellan artwork from the nation of Corvermell. This new exhibit is intended to capitalize upon the recent success of the 'Things We Stole From Other Countries' exhibit by continuing to increase the number of internationally oriented displays. The main attraction of this new exhibit is the display of golden Vermellan jewelry.
Prior to the recent creation of Fer-se Ric, a company based out of
The Theocracy of Corvermell that was created by Housekeeper Graiva Dictheri of House Kamiki, it was impossible to legally purchase golden Vermellan jewelry from
The Theocracy of Corvermell. Upon the company's creation, the National Museum of Antiquities swiftly moved to purchase some of the exceedingly rare jewelry and create an exhibit to showcase this new collection, currently one of the largest outside of
The Theocracy of Corvermell itself.
Though the collection of rare golden Vermellan jewelry is the highlight of the exhibit, it is by no means the only attraction. The National Museum of Antiquities has coordinated with cultural experts in
The Theocracy of Corvermell to craft a comprehensive exhibit that showcases a diverse selection of historical Vermellan art. The exhibit is designed to highlight works of art from all major cultural eras, beginning with the ancient Selvalla stone carvings that were dutifully replicated in the Sangue Lune House of Vermella, then moving on to the influence of artwork from
The Queendom of Morgnatha during the time of Salora's life, summarizing from there
The Theocracy of Corvermell's major artistic movements and their correlation with global artistic movements, and ending with samples of contemporary Vermellan art, including the rare golden Vermellan jewelry.
The exhibit has been widely acclaimed by artists and cultural experts throughout the nation. However, vocal members of the Moral Minority have been complaining and petitioning the government about the new exhibit, which displays several provocative nude portraits by several famous Vermellan artists. Unlike
The Dominion of Sincronia,
The Theocracy of Corvermell does not have laws condemning public nudity, and most of
The Theocracy of Corvermell's religious holidays are even celebrated in the nude. Consequentially, nudity is quite prevalent throughout much of the Vermellan artwork in the new exhibit.
Moral Minority members claim these pieces of work promote prostitution and indecent sexual acts, and they desire to have the Vermellan art exhibit shut down immediately. Supporters of the exhibit argue that, contrary to the fears of the Moral Minority, nude portraits encourage observers to properly respect the beauty of the human body, thus decreasing observers' desires to engage in sexual abuse.
Whilst the Moral Minority members debate against artists and cultural experts over the exhibit in the halls of government, the populace has sent a clear message as to which side it supports. The Vermellan Art exhibit is a smashing hit, and the exhibit is on track to become the most visited exhibit in the history of the National Museum of Antiquities. A popular Chatter campaign has people all over the nation chirping their support of the Vermellan works of art whilst denouncing the Moral Minority members, now mockingly called "sour M&Ms". The hashtags #CrazyforCorvermell and #sourM&Ms have been used in millions of chirps over the past few days since the exhibit's opening.
