Just a little side-note.

During my open-Engems stage, the thing I loved most was IC hate. It created conflict IC that worked out wonderfully, but then some of that slipped into OOC which just utterly killed the enjoyment. The first experience I had with it made me quite upset, and I ended up feeling disgusted with several people. Engems had a speech in PS, one person threw a temper tantrum that the Silver Guards ( don't even know if that's what they were called then ) weren't climbing up steps guarded by soldiers to beat us up.

Yadda yadda ya, OOC hate is for underdeveloped RPers, one has to learn to seperate themselves from their character and not feel the same emotions as they do.

This isn't to say I haven't given my own share of OOC hate from RP in the past. As I'm sure @Man5791 will recall, I too threw my own temper tantrum over a few issues, but I think I am the better for it. I'd like to think that Man and I are quite good friends from this.

Also, another big note of OOC hate was against the Inquisition. I'm 90% at several stages throughout Elrohir's life he was on the Inquisitions most wanted list, but I got along great with every member of the Inquisition and I still do.

TL;DR : BOLD! NO OOC HATE! GO TO YOUR ROOM! NO RP FOR A WEEK YOUNG (WO)MAN, DO YOU HEAR ME? DON'T IGNORE ME WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU! I SPENT NINE MONTHS CARRYING YOU AROUND AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME?!?! ONCE YOU LIVE IN THIS HOUSE, UNDER THIS ROOF, YOU WILL PLAY WITH YOUR SIBLINGS NICELY.

That's still IC actions, though. It shouldn't bleed into OOC stuff.

(massively affected Forest Elves in their Twilight stage, I think)
A lovely post that I agree with, but I feel like I need to say that this specific section isn't true. Tarron's blindness wasn't due to old age- His was a rare genetic disfunction that was unique to him, and not all Forest Elves :D

As the Elves grow older and reach the age of 250 they begin to develop something akin to a very specialised version of Basal Cell Nervus Syndrome, one which only effects vision. It's a genetic thing that's hereditary; halfbloods of the Elven variety will still get it (dominant gene stuff). As far as I know, the Engems have succeeded in cataract removal surgery which is something different (though still amazing!).

Didn't know plastics were invented.

It's couching needles :p
Cataract surgery requires the removal of the original lens of the eye and replacing it. Just taking the lens out would make vision so blurry that it would be equivalent to blindness.

EDIT: Didn't realize what you meant. Couching needles were not perfect, it's likely a 80% chance of succeeding.
