In the dead of night a single poster has been hung in front of the Storm's Landing tavern, on a thick sheet of paper.
To a fine point, many worship the Gods for whatever respective need they have, be it love, luck, guidance, or whatever suits their needs at the time. For those that take their faith more seriously, they gain a blessing from their patron God and a vision, whether it be from Jax to Ignis. These are the users of so-called “God-given” magic and are the inherent and obvious 'ambassadors’ of the Gods. So many common-folk are now seem holding sermons to them to gain their favor, all across Altera. Before this, only a handful of them convened into one “Council of the Blessed” to help do the Pantheon’s bidding on this mortal plane. They should be the most up-standing and most faithful individuals, should they not be? These are the one who hold their God on a pedestal above all else. Their word would be law, and the blessed individuals would be the ones to enforce it.
However, on far too many cases the Council could never get along, so much so that they threw out the very ones who started it!
According to the Divine Law, a heretic is defined as
5. Mortals who worship False Gods that are not one of the Pantheon shall be struck down for Heresy and burned until dead over the flames of birch wood. May the flames purify their filthy souls.

Upon a judgement of the council, they spoke about John de Beaumont. He worshiped A God that has passed, and died. Harateth. A dead God that he willingly knew and accepted as dead, and even accepted himself as a heretic! The situation would be the same if one were to worship Kilrox instead of Crusade. Kilrox is dead, and is reborn of Crusade. Bilworth is dead, and was absorbed into Jax. The dead Gods are false ones! The ones that the very primal forces took out of power and changed for a reason! The very stability of the world was saved when Harateth was killed by Rahas, and the same is true for his followers, no matter how wise the individual.
The council has also expressed their opinions on mages, stating that they don’t have any issues with them, so long as they “use their magic for good.” On other occasions, they have turned towards mages with only good intentions and have attempted to burn them. Furthermore, one would think that the Gods would not bless, and keep their boons on individuals who choose to marry and bed with mages. Especially the blessed of Sallana. This is one of the many things that shows that the Council is currently maintained by incompetent individuals that the Gods gave their position because they wish to maintain a hold on the common populace. They want to spread their ‘righteous word and almighty law’ so they can stay in power. The Gods are greedy and wanting, just as the ‘mortals’ of this realm.
What help have the oh-so almighty blessed given to the common peoples, past some petty squabbles and quandary? Let not the common people be blind anymore to their hypocritical ways. Rise from your ignorance and see the truth. The Gods are nothing more than beings that leech off of their own lies. They are the ones who cast the illusions of doubt and make the appearances of flowers blooming, light coming from the sky, and other things. They make these very small shows of their ‘endless power’ to pull the wool over one’s eyes. Make not the mistake that everyone else before you has made by following them. Without worship the Gods will fall and you may grasp at something more than the honor and glory of playing right into your puppet master's hands. They are deliberate in their words and ways of manipulation, finding enjoyment in casting us in darkness. Rise above.
