An assault upon the Ashlands fort has been reported, two couriers and an injured guardsman head to Linlea as the closer settlement. They state that a group came all at once through the Rift, one with the lower body of a serpent and the other demons, horned and black of eye had scales and golden heraldry of some sort of basilisk. They do not know what became of those left behind, those who would remain to fight the incursion...

I'll be making a public investigation event for those partaking in this arc. It will not be violent, but a way to make plans for the next steps which will break into smaller parties.

Over the last several months, travellers and adventurers in the Ashlands have been attacked and captured, to not be found. Unnatural storms of ash with crimson embers are noted appearing here and there, but the last several days one seems focused around the ruined fortress with the rift. Some careful individuals report back that demons seem to be amassing there, but that no kidnappings or assaults are taking place anymore either.

Repairs begin at the fort in the Ashlands, no longer plagued by assaults and mortals are not reported to be taken there or go missing. In fact, several people return from the rift itself over the next several days, many of them in a terrible state but relieved to be back and free from the grasp of the Basilisk Queen. They are told she is slain, though the appearance of the ashen storms with red embers have been seen after the fact as if it watched part of their departure.

Rierie is no more, those contracted are free of it though will feel their souls scarred forever.
(I'll be doing one event tonight to fully free players from the location but this concludes the arc - Thank you for patience, I got hit with a lot of IRL during the last few months which made things very difficult.)
