I enjoy the more dramatic scenes and storylines in-game, but cannot stomach lunacy and drama out of game Referral: ________________________________________ {Character Section} Character Name: Arne Age: 20 Race: Human (Northern Sangrian) Appearance: Arne has a more sturdy build at 182 lbs, standing at 5'11" with long caramel colored hair and deceivingly dull grey-blue eyes. His beard is kept clean and allowed to grow, alongside his hair. In the back he sports a bun collecting enough of his hair to control it's length. His chest and right arm are adorned in pale blue tribalistic tattoos, conflicting with his paler skin tone. (Optional) Picture of the Skin: Written Test (Min: 400 words): Growing up in the snow covered north, Arne never actually learned the name of his village. His mother and father never bothered to tell him, and anyone else he interacted with never spoke of it. From his seat on the farm, Arne only ever knew three things. He knew the tavern always had mead, he knew the snow was actively trying to kill them all, and he knew it was a point of pride that it hadn’t. That summed up his northern Sangrian upbringing, stubborn resilience and a healthy mix of work and leisure. It was in this village that he lived with his brother,mother and father on their small sheep farm. The younger of the two siblings, he and his brother Erik knew hard work from their early days. Feeding the animals, hunting food, cutting firewood, repairing the thatch roof and more was a daily routine. When the winds assaulted their home, the brothers sat under a bear pelt together and dreamt. The two boys shared a dream of adventure, Erik lusting for combat while Arne grew an interest in the sea. Their father would occasionally be called away, thrown at a rival village’s fighters like a hunter sends hounds after a hare. It would be those days that the two would leave the house the most, after their chores were done. The boys would frequent the docks, watching the ships lazily drift into dock. Sailors would make their way to the tavern for indulgence in their desires, while the two boys would sneak aboard their ships. Arne would explore the ship while his brother kept watch, hoping to learn every rope and board it had to offer. He’d watch the sailors come and go, learning as much as he could without getting close about how the ships operated. One day, as the boys snuck aboard, they were caught. A native to the village, not interested in following his men to the tavern, spotted the two as they lept aboard. Rather than reprimand them, he waited. Watched Arne’s curious eyes and hands as he explored. When the two were about to leave they heard the captain call out to them, beckoning for them to return. It was there he gave them an offer to sail with him. He knew their father and mother, happy to show the two a key feature of their heritage. When their father returned from a raid the next day, the captain appeared at their doorstep. Expecting to be scolded for their schemes, both Erik and Arne were shocked to see their father and the stranger embrace, hugging as brothers. It was then they learned of their uncle, a seafarer by trade. It was their kin offering them a place, but there was a condition. Only one could go. Without hesitation, knowing his brother’s interest, Erik declined. At his brother’s protests, telling him this was his chance for adventure and battle, Erik boasted he needed to grow more. Living on the farm a while yet would make him bigger and stronger, and then he’d follow his brother. Sailing was Arne’s dream, so he was to have it. Teary eyed, yet knowing to show it was weakness he would never show, Arne embraced his brother, demanding his word he follow. With a whispered vow the two broke, melancholic smiles adorning their faces. Arne left the village with his uncle, intent on gaining what ground he could on his big brother before he joined him.
