Masterwork Gems

A skilled Gem cutter can cut and polish known gems to a more unique shape. Through the wild magic in the air, they’re able to unlock new potential from within them. They become a lot more intricate and magical than their inert state, which can still be used to create crafts.

Masterwork Amethyst | Within the purple gem is an intricate cut of triangles: of purples and silvers. When forged into a worn ornate object, the wearer can vaguely sense (not see) the supernatural within a room, or a 30b reach, as the gem causes the hairs on their body to stand. The gem is naturally cool to the touch. When tinkered into crude spectacles or a primitive spyglass, the wearer can see a vague outline of purple on invisible ghosts, wraiths and objects that are possessed by the supernatural.​
Masterwork Citrine | Within the yellowed gem is a murky hue: of grey, yellows and browns. When forged into a worn ornate object, the gem brings a light sense of joy upon touch, through murky dark thoughts, by aiding in recalling a happy memory through a brief vision. The memory recalled can vary when used at different times. It glimmers a soft candlelight glow of sunlight. When tinkered into an hourglass, it carries the same effects.​
Masterwork Emerald | Within the bright green gem, a leafy cut forest is etched: of greens and silvers. When forged into a worn ornate object, flora seems to appear more rejuvenated and vibrant within a 5b radius, despite still needing to be cared for. The wearer appears healthy and hydrated, though still requires nutrients to sustain themselves. The gem carries the scent of pine or sandalwood.​
Masterwork Opal | Within the pale rainbow gem, a milky swirl moves around: of pale pinks, limes, azures and whites. The gem glimmers and twinkles when light reflects against it. When forged into a worn ornate object, a glittering shimmer moves around the wearer in a 3b radius protecting them from dust, spores and particles in the air- preventing them from reaching the wearer. The glittering colors can be one or all of an opal’s shades.​
Masterwork Onyx | This gem carries minimal reflection from light and is purely black. Worn ornate objects decorated with this onyx and worn will blacken the veins of the skin beneath them, but don't affect blood flow circulation. Shadows seem to elongate in the wearer’s presence and light tends to dim around them. They’re able to obscure themselves in the shadows better within darker corners of a room or at night, so long as they don’t appear as a spectacle. (concealed hoods, cloaks, etc). Tinkered bejeweled lockets may carry the same effect.​
Masterwork Pearl | Within this pure white gem, there is a solid hardness to it. It’s not as fragile as its other siblings. The gem gives off the scent of the sea. Worn ornate objects decorated with this gem aid the wearer in staying afloat and swimming within bodies of water, allowing them to see in a 30b radius much clearer underwater. When held near ones ear, it’ll emit the sound of a sea shore.​
Masterwork Ruby | Within the deep blood-red gem, swirls of a flame moves around: of reds and oranges. The gem is warm to the touch and when struck against bark, kindling or wood, it will ignite it. Worn ornate objects decorated with this gem will bring warmth to the wearer even in the most chilliest locations in the tundra.​
Masterwork Sapphire | Within the deep blue gem, milky swirls of an ocean move around: of blues and silvers. The gem is cold to the touch. Worn ornate objects decorated with this gem will keep the wearer cool in intense heated or hot atmospheres. When tinkered into an umbrella, it will hold the same effects to the holder while it’s open.​
Masterwork Moonstone | Within the white-blue gem, a milky swirl of colors reflecting the moon moves: of blues, purples and whites. Worn ornate objects decorated with this gem will carry an illuminated glow of moonlight within a 10b radius if the wearer wills it. When tinkered into a lantern, it will hold the same effects.​

VOLATILE OBSIDIAN CRYSTAL | Created between extreme heat and Volatile Obsidian, this crystal becomes a smooth, dark, volcanic glass with rippling ridges of blacks with hints of purple veins. When forged into an ornate hilt conjoined with steel or iron blades and blunt weapon heads, it infuses the steel with new properties. Veins of purple soft light will glow throughout the hilt and reach the fuller of the blade, permanently etched. It will now carry abilities similar to Volatile Obsidian upon regular craftwork and Masterworked Volatile Obsidian on masterworks.
>This can only be used on steel or iron blades and blunt weapon heads. Volatile Obsidian objects cannot conjoin with other weapons, especially starblood.​

Rarity: 4​

VIRIDESCENCE CRYSTAL | Forged and stripped of its metallic outer shell in severe and extreme heat, the Viridescence crystal forms as a dark crystal glass with tints of olive. Ripples of glowing whites line around from within and it carries a light thrum when held. The crystal becomes flexible, easier to cut and mold. Ornamentalists can cut this glass into a solid gem with their own designs to decorate with. The crystal becomes difficult to shatter unless with heavy pressure, much like its metal counterpart. Ornate crafts decorated with it can carry a magnetic bond with its sibling masterwork, and may function as the paired item for a Viridescence weapon. The other mechanical requirements apply, including the requirement for it to be worn on the hand or arm (only crafts of ornate gauntlets, ornate rings, ornate armlets or other ornate arm crafts will carry the effect).

Tinkering & Masterwork
A skilled Tinker can forge iron and glass, and gem, together to mold a more intricate object that utilizes the core magic within them.

BEACON | A beacon is a medium-sized glass sphere, surrounding a beautiful and delicate nether star within. The star is held together by latches upon the bottom and the sphere itself is surrounded below by molded obsidian as a pedestal stand. It is crafted by a great tinker and weighs heavily in comparison to a cannon. It can be difficult to move. The beacon gives off a glaring bright glow, focused upwards to the ceiling or skies, and reflects the color of the nether star used within. The range of its view can be seen within 100-200 blocks, at least region-wide. Touching the beacon may cause a sunburn if left within too long.

Masterwork: A masterwork form of the Beacon channels the gem of the star, the magic in the air, the delicate mold of the glass sphere and ripples of obsidian to unlock a greater effect that encompasses a 30 block radius. Those within the range feel a sense of revitalization, a warmth flowing within them that refreshes any who may feel exhausted or tired. One's weight also lightens- allowing one to move more swiftly around. The sphere carries a glow within the field and a diluted heat of the nether and glowstone.​
CANTEEN OF COLDNESS | A canteen made of leather, insulating water within to keep cool in any climate.

CRUDE SPECTACLES | A set of roughly made spectacles that may aid one in seeing slightly better if they require it, though they have limitations and are not perfect lenses.

FASCIMILE OF A NETHER STAR | A gemcutter can craft with any gem to create the cut of a nether star. This object is known to effect the spells of Eviscists, twisting their colour to match the gem used in the facsimile. On its own, it gives an alluring sparkle to those that see it, carrying a small glow within its center.

HOURGLASS | A simple time-keeping device, capable of tracking anything from a minute to multiple hours based on the size of the craft.

INSULATED TEAPOT | An insulated teapot made of Irzis-Fyr. Water within is kept warm indefinitely.

MUSIC BOX | A small mechanical device fitted into a box, capable of playing simple, pre-programmed melodies when wound up.

PRIMITIVE SPYGLASS | Forged with a lens that is able to enlarge the distance, if not obscured, in order to see any odd shapes or shadows better. It does not give one better eyesight.

READING STONE | A delicate reading stone, crafted with great skill. The lens is clear and can enhance letters when pressed against a book.

SEA HEARTH | This trinket is fitted within a craft of silver and wood and designed into an intricate shape of the Tinker’s choosing. Then it’s decorated with sea pearls to imbue it with a magical strain. It weighs at most 100lbs and is difficult to move around. The trinket will carry a sheen of teal-sea blue glow. When planted into an enclosed water source, lake, pond, etc, it will filter the water within a 30b radius of what it touches, allowing one to see clearly beneath the water or while in the water. If the water is spoiled, it will slowly filter it and cleanse it. If used in saltwater, it will remain as saltwater.
Masterwork: A masterwork form of the Sea Hearth channels the sea pearls upon the shell-like monument and carries a light thrum when touched. If planted within an enclosed freshwater area, it enhances its original effects to carry a healing property with the following benefits: Muscles relax, stress reduces, any blood loss is minimized, minor wounds heal faster and it slows the signs of aging (does not prevent aging). The range remains as a 30b radius.​
SUNDIAL | A crude device that is able to tell the time of day depending on the angle of the shadows and sun.

THIEVES' KIT | A set of intricate tools made for a thief: 4 sets of lockpicks, a hammer, a thin knife, and a chisel.
