Eeeh, I don't know if I agreeHey look, @blargtheawesome found a cool TvTrope that matches Athryl pretty well. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassNormal
Sorry, Ice.Note for Tropers: This trope only applies if the setting possesses a significant number of characters with superpowers.
It means the trope only works in a world where many people have super powers and then there's the person who doesn't have powers who can step up to their levels, thus the 'badass normal' trope. What's that supposed to mean?
I just want to hug you, and I'm not sure why. I blame the avatar. Cute fluffy bunny. It means the trope only works in a world where many people have super powers and then there's the person who doesn't have powers who can step up to their levels, thus the 'badass normal' trope.
In HW the magic and super powerful ones are the uncommon while the norm is the normals, so badass normal trope can't work in HW because 80%-90% of the population and players are normals without super powers. Athryl is a normal in a world of normals thus can't be labeled as a badass normal (infact if he has magic or is a master at things that a normal cannot learn normally like alchemy, I would place him more in the 10% range of not norms)
